Qizil Quyu Fizzy Drink Armud
The fine folks of Azerbaijan have dreams, big dreams. In case you didn’t know it Azerbaijan is a country in Eurasia that borders Armenia. If you didn’t know that you certainly did not know of the countries collective love of all things bubblegum. The people of Azerbaijan dream of a world where all things have a bubblegum flavored equivalent: ice cream, steak, asparagus and even sugar. They have come close to their goal. In fact just recently that have perfected a bubblegum flavored pickle that I’m told will knock your socks off.
Now that their goal is nearly achieved they have decided to up the ante a bit. They now want different flavors mixed with the classic bubblegum flavor to give people options. You know that classic Azerbaijan saying, “Life is all about options. Without them people are no better than a tortoise.” Well they take that very serious, so their scientists have been hard at work at splicing flavors. So far they have perfected the coupling of bubblegum with mint, cantaloupe, cardamom and the often sought after artichoke. Rumors have it that recently the scientists have set their sights on the flavor of pear, you know apple’s bastard cousin. I believe what I hold in my hand here is a concentrate of the pear bubblegum flavoring. I say that because the flavor is so strong and sweet that to think it was an actual beverage blows my mind grapes. I hadn’t even twisted the cap off all the way before the entire room I was sitting in suddenly smelled incredibly strongly of pears. It is strange because once you get the cap off and smell the liquid directly it smells more of bubblegum than pear, but it’s still detectable. The flavor is that of the strongest cola champagne I have ever tasted with slight undertones of pear. I guess it’s true what people say that the people of Azerbaijan love their bubblegum flavor, but sometimes like a pinch of something else. Had I not known the history of this fine country I would have not expected this beverage to taste like this at all. I would have expected simply nothing but sparkling pear juice. That is why you must learn the history of the world, so that bubblegum flavored drinks don’t sneak up on you.

Sol Mate Lemon Lime
I could definitely see this as being an acquired taste. On first sip I thought it was pretty terrible, but the further I got into the bottle the more I thought it wasn't so bad. If this was something that was around all the time, I could really see after drinking it here and there for a while, really starting to love it.
It's mate, so it has a ton of caffeine in it (which I need to stay awake tonight). It also gives it a strong bitter taste. I think the lemon lime flavor takes away from the mate flavor. I'm expecting to like the original one more.

Clic Sparkling Water Beverage Mango
Before I even begin to think about describing the flavor of this drink I have to mention the packaging. Is it necessary? I don't know, but I can tell you that it is really, really cool, even if it is a bit impractical. It's like someone took a 20oz bottle, but it in half and put the top of a can of pop on top to seal the goodness in. I really don't see any benefits of this, besides looking awesome. The joy of plastic is that it is resealable, which this is not. Also, I don't know how well it would work for stacking the cans. It seems like they would fall over a lot easier with that bottom. Oh well, I'm not a stock boy so it's not my problem. I'll just sit back and admire the strangeness of it.
Now on for the purpose of this site, to let the public know how different beverages taste. I shockingly really enjoyed this. Flavored sparkling water isn't really my forte (I can't stand the seltzer taste), but I guess when you add a bunch of sugar to a carbonated water it technically becomes a pop. This tastes like a very light pop that actually tastes just like mangoes. There is no seltzer flavor in this can at all. My only issue is that by the time you get towards the bottom of the bottle/can (should we embrace "bottan" or "cannle" for it's name?) you get a slight hint of the aspartame that is hiding towards the bottom of the ingredients list. Other than that this is great with about half the sugar of normal soda.

Belvoir Fruit Farms Elderflower Pressé
We're getting a little high class here. This drink was imported from the U.K. The bottle makes it look like a white wine, but fortunately for us it didn't smell like death and decay. It has a weird fruity/flowery smell and taste. It kind of reminds me of lychee, but a bit more floral. I feel like it could accent a meal very nicely, but drinking it on it's own might be a little much. It was a bit pricey at $7 a bottle, but hey it's imported.

Bottle Green Sparkling Cranberry & Orange
My lady-friend grabbed a bottle of Bottle Green when we were on a weekend trip to Toronto. It was pretty great. I was excited when we were able to get some more. This is a nice blend of juices that have the perfect amount of carbonation. What makes it even better is that sugar is way down on the ingredients list. It's just fruity and not sugary.
It is definitely more sparkling juice than soda pop. It's very quick to hit you with the flavor, and it leaves you just as quick. I could totally see hippy executives drinking this at business meetings. It's classy, tasty, and one of the best sparkling juices I've ever had.

Bottle Green Sparkling Ginger & Lemongrass
What a nice summer treat this would be. Currently it is 28° with a wind-chill of 13® but in this bottle it's summer time.
We all know what ginger tastes like. There's ginger ale and then there's ginger beer. This drink, like the Ale-8-One are spicy, but they are a nice middle ground between the two. You don't taste the lemongrass too much until the ginger lets go of your tongue, then you are left with the sweet taste of the lemongrass. It has just the right amount of citrus flavor.
If you ever have the opportunity, get this. It's very refreshing and they make it in a larger bottle for those who can't get enough.

Bottle Green Sparkling Elderflower
Who knew flowers were delectable? First I find out that hibiscus is tasty, and now thanks to Bottle Green I've learned that elderflowers are gosh darn great. It tastes flowery, but not in the way that say having your older brother hold you down and spraying aunt Matilda's ancient perfume down your throat tastes. This is almost fruity and fairly sweet. If only good ole Matilda used this to cover up her old lady smell, the world would be a better place.

Fentimans Mandarin and Seville Orange Jigger
I'm not too sure about this one. It has a strong mandarin orange flavor. It also has a flavor similar to when you have a jug of apple cider for just a little too long, and it's on the verge of becoming alcoholic. That's not something I look for in a drink.
After my first couple of sips I started to wonder if this was supposed to be a mixer because it is called a jigger, and as far as I knew that was a unit of measurement for bartenders. I went to the Fentimans site to do some research. Once there I was informed "Jigger is an old English term for good measure, which we use when we combine the juice of three mandarins and the zest of Seville orange in every bottle. " So it's not specifically a mixer, but it certainly is strange.
The more I drink it the more confused I become by it. Some sips I think it's great, and some turn me off. I will be revisiting this again on my own time, but I still don't know if I really like it.

Bottle Green Sparkling Pomegranate & Elderflower
This is one big bottle. It's supposed to be three servings, but I was feeling a bit gluttonous so I downed the whole bottle. Don't judge me. I was thirsty. It was delicious. I'm a grown ass man. I do what I do.
I love the amount of carbonation Bottle Green uses. The bubbles are so tiny and plentiful. Elderberry is the bandleader in this Broadway production of a sparkling drink. The pomegranate is present, but it's just a supporting role. I wish I had more knowledge of some Broadway shows so that I could make a more specific analogy, but I am an uncultured bumpkin. I prefer free-for-alls for hill people.

Orangina Sparkling Citrus
Anyone who has the sense of humor of a junior high student has had a good laugh at how the name of this product could be pronounced. I myself have that sense of humor. How can you not find it funny?
The drink itself is basically a carbonated orange juice with some other slight citrus flavors thrown in the mix. I really enjoy it, and I was shocked to find out that it has HFCS in it when I went to write this review. I never would have guessed it. My only complaint is that the pulp that's in it can be a little hard sometimes. It kind of weirds me out, and it makes me think that it's gone bad.
