Hydrive Energy Antioxidant Formula Triple Berry

Hydrive Energy Antioxidant Formula Triple Berry

Before I continue I'd just like to state that I have not gone completely beverage crazy this morning and been downing drinks left and right. I'm playing a little bit of catch up, as we like to refer to it down at Initech.

Now that I've cleared that up I'd like to announce that I am completely in love with Triple Berry Smoothies from Orange Julius. I know there are much better smoothies out in the world, but something about the frothiness of their Triple Berry really hits me in the right spot. I've also been conditioned to think of that exact flavor whenever I hear the words triple and berry said back to back.

Now you know where my head was when I opened this drink. Unfortunately Hydrive couldn't live up to that glory, but this is in no way a bad drink. It's a non-carbonated "enhanced water energy drink." Like most energy drinks it tastes like some sort of melted down candy. Not a brand name candy, but some sort that you would buy in the bulk section. What is that company? Brachs? I guess that is a brand name. Oh well. It tastes like a melted down hard candy. I'm okay with that. You should be too.

Twist Mandarin White Tea

Twist Mandarin White Tea

What a day. It has been dry as a bone for a month here in the North East. My yard is yellow and looks terrible. I am sure that I am going to have a thousand dollar water bill, as will the rest of the gardeners up on the East Coast.

Today the sky broke and rain poured down from the sky. It fell down so hard that I knew I was in for some trouble. My house was built in 1827. No joke. 1827. The basement takes on water like a sieve and today was one of those days.

I checked when it started to rain and there was nothing. Awesome. I checked again, because I felt it in my bones that trouble was afoot. I couldn't have been more right. 6-8" of water covered my floor. It blew the cover off one pipe and filled my sump pump. I had to bail water myself with a bucket up and down the stairs as my basement took on more water.

Mike's Basement

Eventually, the rain subsided and the water started flowing out instead of in.

When all was said and done, I stood outside in the drizzling rain, catching my breath, and cooling down. I needed something to drink and this was the clear choice. No pun intended. It did a great job and I liked it more than the other flavors that I had. This actually gave the essence of flavored water. Water first, flavor second. I didn't get a lot of white tea taste but I did get a fair amount of mandarin and that's all I could have asked for.

Rule for first time homebuyers; check the basement before you buy a house. Check out the house on a saturating day to ensure that it can take it.

Twist Lightly Flavored Water, Mandarin White Tea, 19-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 12)

Sonu Pomegranate Acai

Sonu Pomegranate Acai

Low calorie. Organic. Electrolytes. Vitamins. Antioxidants. Everything you want, right? Sure, you're fat, eat fast food, have a family history of illness, don't go outside, and your darn dog just peed on your comforter. You need this. It's a necessity. Without it, you might die, or go further down the spiral that your life has become. I'm sorry, but this is the way that it is. This tiny drink, which I just noticed seems small but actually contains twelve ounces of liquid, can cure all of your problems. For instance; weight is controlled by its low calorie count and electrolytes, organic can cure you of your drive-thru habit, vitamins and antioxidants take care of your illnesses and you introverted, pale, agoraphobic ways. Finally, throw the empty bottle at the friggin' dog that just ate your favorite baseball. Jerome is a bit of a handful. Remember that time when he ate your homework and your teacher, Mrs. Hogenmuller wouldn't believe you? I don't blame her. I bet she gets that all the time.

What do expect from this adequately priced drink? Not too shabby. It's a tad viscous, that is to say, it's thicker than water. The taste is deceiving. It's a little pomegranaty and the Acai is actually kind of transformed into a tea taste so it just tastes like a light, berry tea, which I am fine with on all counts.

I want you on the up and up. Get out of that pizza place you pathetically have been making subs at for 14 years and get a job that will allow you to move out of that dump of a place you call an apartment. You're 34 years old and you have $16 in you savings account. You do have a fantastically large anime collection and that is something to be impressed of...to some people. Mostly nerds.

Muscle Milk Protein H2O Sugar Free Raspberry

Muscle Milk Protein H2O Sugar Free Raspberry

It's been a long day at the gym. I'm a sweaty mess and I'm also exhausted. What can I say sometimes you just need to juice your pecs. Did you see me in there though? I was benching so much that it could have been a beached whale. No not that one that blew up all over some Asian city when they were trying to transport it. That was insane and disgusting. Why would you bring that up? Seriously, you're the "bar tender" at the gym juice bar. Is that you're opening line to make conversation with patrons? If so you really need to work on it.

So what would you recommend that I drink at a time like this? Muscle Milk? Sounds disgusting. You know that milk is basically blood and pus right? Ugh. Seriously are you trying to make me sick here? Is that how you get people to lose weight in this establishment? Oh they have a water version that is raspberry flavored? I guess I'll take one of those. Hmmm it tastes like a diet Vitamin Water with a little milk mixed in. This is really weird. It's basically water, juice and whey protein. Flavor-wise they either need to ditch the sucralose or the whey. Both are needed for their formula, so I guess it's what we're stuck with. I don't hate this, but I can't see drinking it every time I come to this gym. Wait...what? This isn't a gym? This is just the basement of a construction site? Then why are you serving drinks? Stop looking at me like I'm insane!

Lotte Refreshing Water 2% Peach

Lotte Refreshing Water 2% Peach

Call me old fashion, but I feel that once you start adding sweeteners and the like to your drink it should no longer be referred to as water. I mean aren't 99% of the drinks on the world water based? By that thinking then pop should be called water. This is water, sweetener and concentrated peach. As I see it this would be a juice. It definitely tastes like a watered down peach juice to me, well one that is overly sweetened. I also have no idea what "2%" has to do with this drink at all. It just makes me think of milk. On the bright side I really like the packaging. It is pleasant to look at.

True Citrus Orange

True Citrus Orange

What's the matter boy? Ahh. Scurvy. Twas a terrible disease when we were at sea. There was all that water with no citrus to keep us from getting sick. We lost many men to that dreadful disease. I'll tell you, being a fisherman is not as glamorous as it sounds. Sure, you get to spend all day fishing, but have you ever eaten fish every day for sixty-two days? It gets old kid. Real old. Real fast. Especially when you run out of those McCormick spices. Paprika fish is great until it is no more. You end up marinating fish in other fish to try and get something different. Then you start mixing fish and potatoes or fish and old socks. I'm telling you. It gets bad.

So yes, vitamin C deficiency is no joke. Everyone's wives told them to bring these little packets of True Orange but they thought that they would be picked on for having flavor packets so they traded them for "tough guy" stuff like razors, cigarettes, and fingerless gloves. Me? I brought it and no one made fun of me. It was fine, too. It tastes like if you split a glass of orange juice between ten people and watered it down to make it work. It's lightly sweetened and still, somehow, 25% of your daily vitamin C intake.

I know you like the sea, lad, but please don't worry about what the other guys tell you. There is nothing cool about a dead guy wearing fingerless gloves because as cool as they were when he was alive, you certainly aren't going to take them off his cold, dead hands and call them your own. Well, unless you’re Zeke. That dude is crazy.

True Orange Crystallized Fruit Wedge ~ 100 Pack Box

Crystal Light Pure Mixed Berry

Crystal Light Pure Mixed Berry

Carol loves a good jog. She's in her mid-forties and has always done a good job taking care of her body. Sure, she "cheats" every once in a while. She's determined but still human. She'll have some ice cream every once in a while and loves chocolate. She eats less of it than she would like to, but she has self-control. Admirable, I know.

While making her bi-weekly shopping trip, she came across a new version of Crystal Light. She used to drink it a lot in the last 80's, early 90's but after the whole diet/cancer scare, she's tried to stay away from it. This looked like something new and used Stevia so she bought it.

So took her evening, after work jog and came home to make a glass of this drink. She took one sip and was part relieved and part unsatisfied. She liked the fruit flavor of the drink but it was a bit too sweet. It has the Stevia taste that she was used to, but it was as if it had just too much sugar in it. She mixed it correctly. She checked the size of the bottle and the directions on the box. She finished the bottle and would probably finish the rest, but just in a longer time than she thought.

It was not what she expected and although it was better than the Crystal Light she was used to, they hadn't exactly "done it" quite yet. Keep going, Carol. We're all rooting for you.

Pure Cool Mojo Cool

What can I get you sir? A Dr. Pepper? Wise choice. Let me just go over here to the fountain, press this medium, responsible sized cup to the lever and...hmm. That's odd. Let's do it again because anyone who has worked a fountain drink machine knows that the drinks are lighter coming out of the spout than they are in the cups that we drink them out of. Round two, here we go. Nope, clear. Sir? Pardon me, sir? How are you feeling today? Daring? You are?! Sir, I like you. Let's do something here. What have I got? I've got this soda water. Check. I've got limes. Limes are good, right? You're not allergic to limes, are you, sir? Good. The only other thing I have is this spearmint gum. I'll put it in this separate plastic cup of water, mush it up, and pour it into your drink. Deal? Wicked. Let's do this right now.

What do you think? It's cold, right? You can't taste the lime? Eh, can't win 'em all. You can taste the mint, though? Yes. Good. It's a bit bitter because it's just soda water and there is no sugar or anything because, as we discussed, there is almost nothing behind this counter. On a scale from one to five, what would you give it? A three. You've got it sir. Also, because you're so adventurous, that drink is on the house.

Sonu Mango Peach

Sonu Mango Peach

Mark, I asked you to get me a flavored water. What is this crap you brought me? Sure its got water in it's name, but this tastes more like a juice than water. It's so darn sweet. It's absolutely nothing like what I wanted. I wanted something as light as can be, very crisp and just slightly flavored. Well I want it flavored enough that it doesn't taste like someone spit a little juice in my water, but what I want is 98% water. I want it to be like I took a nice frigid pitcher of water out of the fridge, poured myself a nice tall glass. I want that, but lightly flavored, like I said. I want the flavoring to be more of an aftertaste than the actual flavor of the drink. Water first. Flavor second. You have another bottle? That thing looks comically bad. Its label is just screaming artificial sweetener. It's sweetened with agave syrup you say? Well I'll give it a try. Wow this is exactly what I wanted. Now my only problem is that since it's like water I could probably drink ten bottles. Looks like you're going back out in that blizzard to pick up some more. Thanks Mark, you're a doll.

Sobe Lifewater Orange Tangerine

Sobe Lifewater Orange Tangerine

That little Sobe lizard has gone a long way. When they first popped up in the mid to late 90's I was a fan, but I never expected them to stay around very long. I worked in a grocery store and one of my jobs was to return items that people decided they didn't want, or returned to the shelves. The number of bottles of Sobe that I had to put back was a bit ridiculous. The number of Sobe bottles that I took into the back room and drank instead of putting them back on the shelves likes I was supposed to was also pretty ridiculous. On a similar note, one day I took a bottle of each kind of BBQ sauce we carried and took them to my secret area of the back room (where I knew there were no cameras) and tried them all to discover what brand it was that a local taco chain used on a limited burrito they had. Sadly it was none of the 20+ I tried and the possibly slow kid that took my money in exchange for tacos refused to tell me. I should probably find him and throw a water balloon full of BBQ sauce at him.

Now that I have been thoroughly sidetracked by my looting and burrito intake, back to the point. No one seemed to want Sobe. I loved it. It was a quasi energy drink / Gatorade. Since then they have tweaked their flavors and gone off into other worlds of beverages. With their Lifewater line I believe they have something that the masses will enjoy. It of course is in the vein of other vitamin enhanced water/sports drinks out there, but it has a bit more flavor. The more flavor it has the further it gets away from being a "water" drink in my eyes, but who am I to complain? Oh yeah, I am a professional drinkologist.

The orange tangerine flavor we have here unsurprisingly reminds me of Tang. This may be the future of space drinks. It's chock full of vitamins and minerals that every astronaut needs in his or her daily space life. I'd also like to point out that they did a good job of lowering the sugar, without compromising flavor by cutting it with erythritol. Now we just need a proper space BBQ shop and I can get a job on a space station and then loot it.
