Snapple All Natural Lemon

Snapple All Natural Lemon

Come on, people. You haven't had this? I don't know how we haven't had it yet. We've been spending all our days drinking Black Mushroom sludge and enough Energy drinks to fuel the most depressed, tired country. So why the wait? We probably went to the store as individual, thirsty dudes, saw lemon Snapple, and though, "Oh yeah, someone already did this. Next." and moved right on down the line? You didn't come here for that, though. You came here for a review so here goes.

It's good. Now that they've replaced their lines with all natural product, every tastes better. You can taste the black tea, the sugar, the lemon and everything together is actually great. This is a wonderful lemon tea. Great balance, great price, great taste, and so on. Snapple, you've been in the game a long time and I would be upset that you couldn't have gotten it right in that amount of time.

Snapple All Natural Tea Will Be Loved

Snapple All Natural Tea Will Be Loved

Let's talk about Maroon 5 for a second. Whether or not you like them, you have to give them this; they might write some of the catchiest, more radio friendly pop rock songs ever. Good hooks, funky guitar, great rhythm section, and Adam Levine is a good singer. Real good. Although you might not like them, you have to give them that. I think that they are one of those bands that I could probably listen to any record and say to myself, "Yeah, this is a certified multi-platinum album for a reason." So, I can see why Snapple called up the Maroon 5 hotline and said, "Hey guys. Reason we called you is because while we were getting a drink from Bret Michaels, we thought that we might want to ask some people that the kids like for being good, not for winning a TV show. So what do you say, dudes?" They then had to go to the thinking lair of the Maroon 5 multi-million dollar headquarters and put together the perfect drink to put their name on.

They each picked a fruit and you know it was Adam Levine who stepped it up and thought out of the box and said that he wanted hibiscus in there. Everyone else probably had "fruit regret" because hibiscus is the secret ingredient in many drinks to push it over the top. Since they picked them, they had to stick with them, though. Snapple took these flavors, put them in a mixer, called up the hotline a week later and said, "This is great stuff, guys. I can taste everyone's flavor suggestion and can still tell that it's a black tea. It's nicely sweet and there is a nice, complex overall flavor both in initial taste and aftertaste. You've got another hit, boys!" and promptly put the drink on the shelves. Mickey Madden, the bass player with ears of gold said that he knew that he could sense that the person that made that call had gold, T-bar glasses, smoked a cigar, and was wearing a fedora when he made the call. He could hear it. Also, he could hear the reverberation coming from the call and also noted that he could tell that he was calling from a velvet-curtained room. Maroon 5 did a five person high five, sold another million records that second, and got sushi.

Everything about this can looks like it was left over from the late 90's. Even though this just various juices with no sugar added it tastes more like a "drink" than a juice. Watermelon juice never works folks. You shouldn't even bother trying. It always ends up tasting like some sort of candy. It just tastes generic and I can't get into it.

Snapple All Natural Pomegranate Raspberry

Snapple All Natural Pomegranate Raspberry

For the first time in a long time, I can taste pomegranate as pomegranate when it's mixed with something. Assume for a minute that pomegranates are people and there is a king. No, not king. Boss. Yes. Pomegranates are a company and they named their company "Pomegranates", you know, like how the band New Kids On The Block had a song called "New Kids On The Block" off of the album "New Kids On The Block". Pretty original. At least don't give it a title so it inherently becomes "Self Titled" or "S/T". Anyhow, the boss has all these people making sales. Selling themselves as contractors to juice companies. For example, Juice Co. is making an orange pomegranate drink and they need pomegranate, obviously. So these pomegranate workers go to Juice Co. in order to flavor their drinks with their own skilled labor. Here's the thing, though. Pomegranates are crappy workers. They aren't good at getting their distinct flavor into anything and it reflects poorly on Pomegranate (the company) and therefore, reflects poorly on the boss.

Snapple has hired only the best Pomegranate workers and, for once, they've done their job well. You can taste the raspberry and the pomegranate together in a harmonious blend. Harmonious is a strong word, but I wanted to be complimentary. It's a bit strong. It's good, but it's pretty sweet. Fruity yes. Cardboard no. I mean...my favorite, no.

I know, I know. First we list 600+ reviews with no Snapple and then we've got three in a week. Well here's what happens...when you find something that used to be alright and then you discover that they changed their whole ingredient list and started doing things differently, they deserve another shot. I mean, they were early in the game of bottled tea and then once other cats got in the game, they were pushed aside. Now that they've stepped it up, and I mean really stepped it up, there's no stopping them.

This raspberry tea might be the best I've ever had. That says a lot. I've had tons of raspberry teas and this one tastes better. It's incredible what real sugar allows flavors to do. Artificial flavoring and sweetening disguises and distorts the real flavor of items. This is not bitter at all, even though there is green tea in it, but you can really taste the sweet, natural raspberry flavors come across like if you made it yourself.

This is saying a lot. If you wrote them off in the past, put your grudge aside and get a bottle of this.

Snapple All Natural Peach Tea

Snapple All Natural Peach Tea

Just like Mike, I had written off Snapple in favor of Arizona a long time ago. You just can't beat 99-cent tall boys of iced tea in the summer. But after getting wind that Snapple started using sugar instead of HFCS, I had to pick up a bottle.

While this is obviously not the best iced tea I've ever had, it's a step in the right direction for one of the biggest companies making iced tea. Once again I will echo Mike in saying that it tastes really clean. I didn't get that heavy aftertaste that comes with high fructose corn syrup, which was nice. The peach flavor is strong, but not too strong. I don't usually like eating peaches, but drinking this is making me crave one.

Snapple All Natural Mint

Snapple All Natural Mint

Snapple is a classic. They used to be everywhere and then Arizona came out and, in my opinion, left Snapple in the dust. Maybe that's just for me, but aside from juice, that's all I remember Snapple contributing to my life. Mind you, this is back in like 1997 or so.

So all of a sudden, Snapple comes to their senses, drops artificial flavors and sugars and goes all natural. You can tell in this because it's very clean. Some people thought that it was a bit too toothpaste-like but I disagree. It actually smelled like mint more than it tasted like mint and I was fine with that.

I got this from a bodega across the street and there is more to get. Snapple is back in the running and I finally welcome them to Thirsty Dudes.
