There is lime in this. Why wouldn't there be? Good question but you would be surprised. This actually has a good cherry taste and lime taste. That's both tastes. Two of two tastes are good. All together how is it? It's good. I didn't polish off a whole bottle in one sitting but that's no insult to the drink itself. It's good. It tastes like a cherry limeade you would make yourself with cherry Kool-Aid and lime juice. Do you make things like that yourself at home? Perhaps. This is also made from real sugar so it doesn't taste like poison at any stage in the game. I've got a couple bottles of this line that I am now looking forward to.

Cheribundi Refresh Cherry Limeade

Cheribundi Refresh Cherry Limeade

I saw cherries for the first time at the grocery store this weekend. That means that it's starting: Summertime. I'm not wearing any socks. The only thing that's left is to find someone selling lemonade on a street corner.

This is summer wrapped in a bottle and it's good. Everything is properly portioned and well represented, too. The cherries are tart and fruity and the limeade is slightly tart and sweet. Man. Look, I shared this with a fellow developer and in hindsight, I selfishly wish I hadn't because it's good. Is anything bad? Nope. Not in here. This is all good things. Positive. H.R. from Bad Brains would approve of the PMA of this drink.

True Brew Shake-Ums! Cherry Limeade

True Brew Shake-Ums! Cherry Limeade

Well, well, look what we've got here: Juice. You're nothing juice. You used to be all that but now you've just turned in to a zero percent juice abomination. You offer nothing to people other than a lie to those who cannot or do not read your labels. Now you just sit there and suck all day and night. What do you have to say for yourself?

You what? No. I don't believe it. You can't be made from both fruits and vegetables. That's gross. What do you mean you can't taste the carrots, beets, or potatoes? Are you lying again? You're not? Alright, hand yourself over. I'm drinking some of you. Just unscrew your hat and I'll take a little sip.

You know what, man? You are pretty right. I should add that I can taste a little strangeness just from there being something not of fruit descent but you can get a lot of cherry and a bit of limeade. I suppose that I owe you a bit of an apology since I ragged on you pretty hard before about not being the genuine article. Sorry, dude. Can I get another sip of you before you put your little cap hat on? How do you expect me to drink it? I'm not waiting for you to pee. I know that's how juice is made but to me, that's still gross.

Dublin Cherry Limeade

Dublin Cherry Limeade

Dublin is famous for many things. Mostly all I care about are bands from there; U2, Thin Lizzy and My Bloody Valentine to name a few. I once played an insane house show in that very Irish city, where kids were literally spilling out of windows. Dublin is also the home of the first bottling of Dr. Pepper. Oh wait, that is a completely different city, in a completely different country. For years when people talked about Dublin Dr. Pepper I really thought that it was made in Ireland. As it turns out it was made in a little town in Texas, until the higher ups at Dr. Pepper shut down production due to breach of contract (I believe). It’s a shame because I know a lot of people really loved the cane sugar version in the glass bottle. One such person is Cassandra Peterson (aka Elvira) who wrote a nice eulogy of the soda for us.

To be honest I didn’t even know the plant was still in operation. I certainly had no idea that they had their own line of sodas. I figured they were a bottler for Snapple or something. I’m glad they kept going because I am one for tradition and my ladyfriend will sigh and vouch that I am not one for change. This company has been bottling soda since the late 1800s, and that is awesomely ridiculous.

As a nod to the old days this bottle has a nice retro look. I feel dirty for typing those words because most things that are described as retro end up being cheap and not worth anyone’s time. This though, this is a nice look for a classic soda flavor. Actually I don’t know if Cherry Limeade is in fact a classic flavor, but it always seemed like something that should be available at the soda shoppe. If you’re not familiar with the flavor, the name says it all. It’s like a sparkling lemonade (made with limes instead of lemons) with cherry syrup mixed in. It’s like a Shirley Temple without the lemon in the lemon-lime base. This may not taste like real fruit, but I don’t think I would even want it to. There are some flavors of soda that should be straight up sugary sweet and syrupy. This is one of them, and Dublin has done it right.

Sparkling Ice Cherry Limeade

Sparkling Ice Cherry Limeade

Our nation is in complete disrepair and although I'm not blaming it on the food industry, they aren't helping. Cutting corners has led to a fatter nation and the fact that this drink calls itself "Naturally Flavored Sparkling Mountain Spring Water" and contains 3% juice is not even worth mentioning. It's almost like you're eating the food that your child made you using their foam bread and plastic lettuce, pickles, and tomatoes. If you were wondering why America is so fat, you can easily sum it up with one word: Capitalism.

Faux food aside, this at least tastes good. It's zero calories and quite flavorful. It's pretty sharp and only quasi-diet tasting. It's sweetened with sucralose but apple juice is ahead of that so they're at least trying. This is cherry is pretty good but the limeade is kind of missing. I think that whatever is happening, namely the sucralose, is cutting into the flavor of limeade.

Everything is fake and we're now trying to find out what is the best of the worst. This isn't bad. On a diet or hate calories? This isn't bad. It's like a slightly less thick cherry pop.

Brisk Half & Half Cherry Limeade

Brisk Half & Half Cherry Limeade

You've got Brisk, aka, the worst "iced tea" money can buy, right? Let's all be civil about this and just come together and agree on this one thing. You've got Israel and Palestine, which no one can agree on. That's fine. I think they call that a "stalemate" right? An unwinable situation. Brisk is cut and dry. Black and white. You've got that. We have to live in this world and lets call it like it is.

You've got Brisk. You mix brisk with lemonade and cherry and you get...drumroll...a weak cherry lemonade juice conglomerate. It's not terrible and it's actually better the more room temperature it gets. Maybe that's the problem I've been having all these years is that I like a nice, cold iced tea and I've been giving myself these things that my body craves but with Brisk, it's the opposite. I should be drinking it like I drink a hot chocolate. Sounds completely unrefreshing but who knows? This, once lukewarm, loses the bite that Brisk has and you can taste some cherry and some lemonade. I should put those in quotes. Let's try that again. It tastes like "cherry" and "lemonade." It's like an artist depiction of those flavors. It tastes like a cherry and like lemonade but isn't one of those things. It's close. If you could have something taste a fraction of what it tastes like, that's what this is. It's not weak, it just doesn't taste like what it's "supposed" to taste like.

There has been a lot of quoting in this. Maybe this whole thing is an art installation. I'm waiting for someone to come in wearing sweater shorts and no shirt with a noose around their neck that says something like "Mother" and music plays that is nothing but someone yelling, "Father." Am I plagiarizing someone's art exhibit? If so, you should stop being an artist and pursue something else, like customer service or call center operator.

Hubert's Lemonade Cherry Limeade

Hubert's Lemonade Cherry Limeade

Hubert's lemonade/limeade doesn't mess around. You'd think with a slogan like "Only the Best Will Do" and a sour faced lemon on the bottle, they were trying to talk themselves up in order for you to ignore the mediocre liquid inside. Hubert's doesn’t need to sink to such tactics. Every flavor I’ve had by them has been some of the best lemon/limeade I’ve ever tasted. And that sour faced lemon isn't an exaggeration, it's really tart! The cherry flavor in this really shines through as well, giving the sour limeade a literal 'cherry on top'. Good work Hubert's, keep making awesome lemonade and I’ll keep buying it

Frostie Cherry Limeade

Frostie Cherry Limeade

You know what sucks about Sonic? They play commercials for locations that they don't have locations in. From the front door of my house to the nearest Sonic is 161.36 Miles. Why am I getting commercials for restaurants that are about 3 hours away? I took a vacation to North Carolina a few years ago and they had it there. Since I get the commercials, I do know what they have to offer me. Cherry limeade is one of those items that I know I can purchase. Difference is that there, I have the additional pleasure of having it be a slushie and not "just" a pop.

This does taste like cherry limeade, but it's a bit thick, which could be in part to the corn syrup, but sweeteners aside, it's just alright. Everyone who tried it agreed. It's "eh". I guess it's the best I'm going to do unless I stupidly decide to take a road trip to get a hamburger, cheesy tater tots, and authentic cherry limeade. Oh wait, this Frostie beverage isn't even available around me. I'm screwed.
