Frisa Sparkling Botanical Beverage Elderflower

Frisa Sparkling Botanical Beverage Elderflower

Okay, let’s see…Shoes? Check. Bowtie? Check. Spats? Check. Cumberbund? Check. Coat w/ tails? Check. Oh and I almost forgot the top hat to round it out. There, now that I am dressed in the fanciest clothes I could possibly wear I am prepared to drink this bottle of Frisa. Since I won’t ever be drinking champagne in my lifetime I think it is safe to say that this is the fanciest beverage I will ever consume, and I might as well dress accordingly. It’s imported, it’s simple and it’s wonderful.

I was surprised when I unwrapped the bottle that there was a twist off cap and not a cork. I mean there really was no need for a cork, but for the way I’m dressed it would have been nice. I can’t really hold that against the company. They have everything else perfect, and I’m sure that would just be a hassle and ruin the drink somehow anyway. I want nothing to ruin this drink. I want a lifetime supply of it. If I could make the taps in my home flow with sparkling elderflower beverage I would die a happy man, and probably sooner than I would otherwise.

I really can’t get over how much I enjoy this. It may be the best beverage we have ever reviewed. If not, it is certainly in the top 3. It’s sweet and floral in all the right ways. Nothing about this is like sucking on a perfume bottle. It’s a totally different beast in the best possible way. I really don’t know when the last time was that my taste buds were this happy. This is simply perfect. I expected the price tag to be much higher than it is as well. $10/bottle is not bad at all, especially for the magic you are receiving. I am going to insist that any fancy event I attend from here on out serves me this. If they turn me down I will just refuse to go. That is how much this means to me.

Now my bottle is empty. I feel like a glutton for consuming so much, and I feel ridiculous sitting at my computer in full formal wear, but yes, it was worth it.

Belvoir Fruit Farms Cordial Elderflower

Belvoir Fruit Farms Cordial Elderflower

I’ve looked it up and elderflower plants thrive in the United States. Why on Earth hasn’t this flavor epidemic swept over us? Sure pomegranate, mango and acai are wonderful and all, but I want, nay, I demand companies start releasing elderflower flavored beverages! I don’t want to have to rely on trips to the United Kingdom to get my fix, or paying ridiculous amounts of money for imported drinks. Is there some sort of conspiracy I’m unaware of that is keeping the elderflower down? Do we need to march on Washington? Was that statement insensitive? If so I apologize, I am just very passionate when it comes to this specific flavor.

As you may (but probably don’t) know I am not a fan of concentrates/cordials. I can never seem to get the ratios right, even when I use measuring cups. They just never taste right to me. I like a consistency to the taste of my drinks that they just don’t provide. Yes I know it’s something wrong with me and not the concentrates.

The thing with this cordial is that I have experimented and no matter what ratios I put together, it tastes fantastic. I’m making it with still water, and it’s not quite the same without the bubbles, but I’m not letting that stop my enjoyment. This is sweet and vaguely floral in the best possible way. I would liken it to lychee if it didn’t taste like old lady perfume, but also different enough to make it mouth watering.

Get on board America, the train is leaving without you.

Found Infused Sparkling Water Elderflower

Found Infused Sparkling Water Elderflower

I would like to make a proposal to the International Drink Commission. I know that every year you esteemed folks choose a flavor that will be the trend for the next twelve months, possibly longer if people really eat it up. In the past it was cranberry, pomegranate and more recently acai. I can tell from this list that those among you have a preference for all thins anti-oxidant. I propose that in the coming year you move away from that theme and in the direction of something more unique. Ladies and gentlemen I put before you that elderflower should be the new flavor that is all the rage. Think about it, it’s fairly unknown and no one can deny that it is absolutely amazing. There are very few companies that use it in the beverages, and an even fewer amount that produce them in the United States. I see it as the clear choice for the new generation.

As an example of what we could expect I preset you with this bottle of Found infused sparkling water. It was slightly sweet and wonderfully floral. I know that may seem like a turnoff, but I’m not talking some rose flavored garbage here; this is elderflower and it has a very specific taste that it slightly floral while staying it’s own thing. It’s almost like it’s a fruit more than it is a flower.

It also has versatility. As you can see/taste here there has been very little sweetener added to this drink (they used beet sugar) and it is enough in addition to he elderflower to remove the seltzer taste from the sparkling water. It also tastes wonderful when it is in a highly sweetened taste. I myself prefer it like it is in Found, but you know people like variety, and elderflower can provide that.

Found has created a near perfect drink, that perfectly reflects what elderflower can do for the beverage world. Like your coveted anti-oxidants it has health benefits relating to detoxing as well as many others. When you look at this scientifically, like I know you all will, you will see that you really have no other choice. I swear this is not because I really just want to have this flavor more regularly available for personal use. I want it for the people!

Bottle Green Sparkling Elderflower

Bottle Green Sparkling Elderflower

Who knew flowers were delectable? First I find out that hibiscus is tasty, and now thanks to Bottle Green I've learned that elderflowers are gosh darn great. It tastes flowery, but not in the way that say having your older brother hold you down and spraying aunt Matilda's ancient perfume down your throat tastes. This is almost fruity and fairly sweet. If only good ole Matilda used this to cover up her old lady smell, the world would be a better place.
