Super Juices might be the worst superhero troop of all time. Villains would essentially need to do nothing more than be bigger than the largest fruit so that they could squash it. A lemon can thwart all the criminals it wants but against, say, a sheep, it will get trampled. Sure, the lemon might try to squirt some stingy lemon juice in its eye but it's not going to stop the sheep when it's in some sort of sheep rage. Pigs are known terrors. You've seen Snatch, right? I mean come on. Do grapes really stand a chance? Nope. Even together, I welcome any animal that squashes them into a collective murder juice puddle so I can drink this juice.

Look, it's nothing exceptional but it does not go without mentioning that it is a good juice nonetheless. It's chocked full of all sorts of different fruits like plums, peaches, pineapple, black currant, elderberry and many more. It's actually kind of a waste that it's not more of a medley because it just tastes like a good pomegranate juice. Come on. If you're going to go through all the trouble to wrangle up camu camu, muscat grapes, and black raspberries, you shouldn't focus your efforts on just one dude. My two cents. This superhero isn't going to save me from anything other than if a banana shows up and wants to join in the festivities. If they do, super team, please save me.

Seksi Pearl Infused Beauty Pomegranate

Seksi Pearl Infused Beauty Pomegranate

As you should know, Jason, Derek and myself made 1.3 million dollars last year. Jason bought a jet in which to tour with the Failures' Union, I bought a red and a black Ferrari Testarossa, and Derek paid back all his gambling debt and bought a gently used Geo Metro. We all wear fancy denim and eat only the finest tacos shipped overnight from Mexico every other day. We no longer drink water, tea, or pop but we drink pearl infused drinks. It has to be this way because nothing else can quench our thirst the same anymore. There is something about the effects of pearls on a man's stomach and face that just makes it irreversible. You can't go back to things that poor people drink like water. We scoff a lot more than we used to now that we've got all this money.

Our foray into the pearl infused drink line is this Seksi drink. It's a decent sparkling drink that does taste like pomegranate but does taste a little odd due to the sucralose. Sure it's the last ingredient on the short list of ingredients but it's strong enough to be somewhat distracting. Either way, this is our drink now because everything else is just not civilized enough.

Next time you see an airplane in the sky blaring nineties-esque indie rock, wave to it because it's Jay on his way to play some fancy, island music festival with U2 and Coldplay. If you see a Ferrari blaring down the road, holler at it and if you are lucky, I'll throw you some drinks at the next stop. If you see a Geo Metro with a bearded dude driving it, don't distract Derek because it pulls left and is a bit sketchy in second and the brakes need some work. Also the sunroof is aftermarket and leaks like a sieve.

It's been a while since I’ve had an aloe drink. Not because I haven't been in the mood for them, I really have. The reason I've been without them is we have reviewed most of the ones I have come across in the last few months. Then I found this wonderful chunky drink at an Asian supermarket.

Korea really knows their aloe drinks. This is delicious with a nice tart pomegranate taste. I wish it had more chunks of aloe, but you can't win them all. So I bow to you, all mighty Aloe Vera King.

If pomegranates were my kryptonite this drink would surely be my doom. While I hate that I just made a Superman reference (a cheater if I ever saw one) I could think of no metaphor that would be more fitting. There are tons of “weird” ingredients in here, but the pomegranate sneaks up and just punches you square in the nose. Oh good now I have blood all over my shirt. Oh wait, that’s just pomegranate juice, because I dribble when I drink like a baby. Either way that’s never coming out…great.

This is strong, tart and functional. It has a lot of what you need to get through the day in a healthy manner. Sure I could do without the stevia, but the pomegranate is so strong that it buries it a bit. You know I could actually see myself drinking this for pleasure, which is not a common thing with these types of drinks. It really just tastes like a strong juice with a little something extra that doesn’t bother me all that much. Huh. Who’d have thought?

I thought we had tried every flavor of Arnold Palmer. Then I saw this bottle, in a Fox News store, in the Houston Airport. Ironically just past this store was a PGA tour shop. This isn't my favorite, but the pomegranate is a nice change of pace to be mixed into the classic drink recipe. I wish this didn't have HFCS in it because it makes in unnecessarily thick tasting.

Lo-Gly Low Glycemic Juice Blend Beverage Pomegranate

Lo-Gly Low Glycemic Juice Blend Beverage Pomegranate

Sam was an all-star bowler. He looked forward to leaving work so that he could go hit the lanes. He had an extra ball and shoes in his car at all times just in case he got stranded somewhere and there was a bowling alley somewhere near. He was a good bowler, too. He bowled consistently in the 200s. He had an array of bowling shirts and was on three teams at any given moment. Best of all, he was a great sport and lost gracefully. He was the best teammate anyone could ask for.

One day when Sam was walking down the street, a van was parked outside a local shop. This happens all the time but this time something caught his eye. There was a case of bowling pins, or what Sam thought were bowling pins, in the trunk. When he got closer, the noticed that it was a drink that looked a lot like bowling pins. He saw the truck driver grab another couple cases of drinks and asked him what that drink was all about. The driver told him that it was a new low-glycemic juice that just came out and offered to give him one. Sam was more than happy, thanked the man, and took the pomegranate drink.

He got to his office and around lunchtime, grabbed his sandwich from the fridge and his new juice. He was pleasantly surprised at how good it tasted. It was a great pomegranate flavor with all the lovely bitterness but mixed in the cool aftertaste of Stevia. It wasn't an overwhelming Stevia taste, which was something that he was worried about.

He went back to the store and bought ten bottles of the drink to hand out to his teammates, who all agreed that it was a very good juice and fitting for the bowling championships. It also went down better than beer and his teammates don't play as well the longer they play because they're not drunk.

Izze Sparkling Pomegranate

Izze Sparkling Pomegranate

It's summer. According to Yo, Gabba Gabba, summer is when it's hot outside and the grass is long. The first part I couldn't agree with more but the latter? I hardly mow my lawn in the summer. Not because I'm lazy, which I tend to be, but it's because the sun is beating down on my poor lawn, turning it to veritable hay. Pomegranates are like summer gold, though. That's a bad analogy. Pomegranates are like winter hot dogs. Wait...that doesn't work either. Sometimes you want sometime but can't get until it's available and then you don't want it...I suppose I can just say that. It's not as much fun, but it's what's going to happen.

So here we have it, a bottled pomegranate. It's fizzy, unlike the original pomegranate, but it's got that bite you like which is cut by juice provided by apples, grapes, pineapples, and cranberries. All those fruits, regardless of quantity don't really detract from the flavor of the pomegranate, which is great.

No messy hands from extracting dozens of arils. No added sugar. No muss. No full. Pomegranates in the summer that aren't small or gross. Out-of-season fruit is nothing if it isn't terribly disappointing. This is your exception to the rule.

Hey moneybags! Yeah you. I see you there with your off-red J. Crew shorts with alligators on them, dock shoes nowhere near a body of water, Wayfarer sunglasses, and polo shirt. Come on, you're a dead giveaway looking like this. You are your own personal Harajuku you doofus. Come here, I've got something for you. Look, you've got the cash. I know you do. Oh, you don't? Nice Rolex Submariner. I'm sorry, were you saying something? I didn't think so. As I said, I've got something for you. You look like you're in decent shape and judging by your attire, and yes, I am judging a book by its cover, you row crew. That's cool. You've got deceivingly calloused hands even though you've probably never worked a day in your life. What are you even studying here at this college? Oh, general studies? Awesome. Enjoy your inherited millions. I'm sorry. I've got a 400 level economics test at three that I'm a bit stressed about.

What was I talking about? Oh, right, your money. I've got this for you. It's quite expensive but the likes of regular people like me can't afford it and I could use a little bit of cash, so if you could buy it from me...what is it? It's an antioxidant booster that you put in your water. One dropper for every cup of water but I've put it in tea, too. It's pomegranate flavored, unsweetened, and pretty great. It's got that really bitter pomegranate flavor mixed with the contrasting sweetness everyone loves about pomegranates. Ying and yang, that fruit. You drop it the water, stir it up, and drink it up. I like it but could use some cash for food and stupidly bought two of these and saw you sticking out like a sore thumb and thought that you might enjoy clean skin and lustrous hair. You do? Of course you do. I'll sell it to you for $30, which is like $10 less than I paid for it but I could easily get a Crave Case and feed my three roommates and myself for a couple days. You don't know what a Crave Case is? Man, what's it like to have all that money?

T2U (Tea to You) Green Tea Pomegranate

T2U (Tea to You) Green Tea Pomegranate

A couple things. First, we were all very busy this weekend. Jay has been on tour with Cheap Girls and hanging with some other friends in and around, Baltimore, Philly, New York, and beyond. I spent all weekend riding a motorcycle in a basic riding course. Derek has opened a store and is dealing with that. We were very busy. From Jay and I, we're sorry that we didn't get to do any reviews.

Second, and this is a doozy: buy this tea. I'm telling you. I saw it at some small Asian market with my dogg (note the double "G") Jay. I think Jay was looking around for carp juice or shark drink or something to hopefully make me throw up. Notice a pattern? He's always trying to make me throw up. We'll get there, buddy. We'll get there. This tea, which came out of nowhere, is way too good to be stuck in such limited quantities on a dusty shelf in some suburban Asian market. This trumps most big brand iced tea by far. Good natural tea taste and a good natural pomegranate taste. These guys nailed it.

South Korea, you've given me years of Tae-Kwon-Do and now you've given me this. I hope that this review can bring you the income needed to build that new bridge or skyscraper you've always wanted.

Paldo Aloe Pomegranate

Paldo Aloe Pomegranate

Paldo seems like it should be a dog’s name. I kind of want to name a dog Paldo now. I also want to teach him to go fetch me drinks. Does that fall under the adorable category or the one labeled “get it yourself you lazy slob?” I’m going to go with adorable. I would imagine glass bottles would be hard on the little guy’s teeth. They also might be too smooth for him to be able to get a proper grasp on to carry. Cans would also be a problem because one little tooth pressed just a little too hard and the contents are going to spray everywhere. It looks like I’ll have to train my little bubby Paldo to retrieve me plastic bottles. Hopefully he will be prone to choosing his namesake because they make some great tasting aloe drinks. Sure the chunks in it are a little too tiny for my liking (they resemble pulp more than chunks), but the flavor is always great. This bottle is a great example. Pomegranate is a delicious fruit but a little too much for a lot of people. Paldo (the company not the imaginary dog) added enough sweetener to take away most of the bitterness yet leave the essence of the fruit in tact. It’s a perfect gateway drink to get people into both pomegranate and aloe drinks. If you’re skeptical of either, give this a try. I’ll be out looking for a beagle puppy who is susceptible to drink training.
