Margaritaville Iced Latte Calypso Coconut Fudge

Margaritaville Iced Latte Calypso Coconut Fudge

I thought this wasn't bad. Well, let's be honest for a second here. I bought it because I thought that it would be a funny review because it's Margaritaville and the Thirsty Dudes don't drink. That being said, I did go to a Margaritaville in Las Vegas and it wasn't too shabby. It wasn't the best jerk chicken I've ever had but you know what? It's fine. It was good and I was hungry and I would actually say as much as I might go back. Go ahead. Call the cops. I'll wait. call the cops.

This, though, this was not as good as my previously mentioned jerk chicken. This started out good and I was surprised. Then something happened. The true colors of the garbage ingredients had a chance to shine through and rear their ugly heads. The coconut was strong and the "fudge" was very strong and tasted very fake and super chocolatey. After a while, it almost had a numbing sensation and I'm glad that I only had to endure half the medium sized can because drinking the whole can would have truly displayed an element of self-hate. If this was served in shot glasses, or the same sized container that Five Hour Energy drinks come in, we would be fine. It's not. Fifteen ounces...fifteen ounces is a bit more that I can imagine drinking. I have half a can of it in the fridge and I feel that there will be some toilet alligators might find themselves energized and caffeinated soon. Watch your butts.

Victor Allen Iced Latte Mocha

Victor Allen Iced Latte Mocha

I predict there will be a divide over this product, albeit with a narrow margin. People who love coffee will say, “It’s pretty meh. It doesn’t really like coffee.” People who are indifferent about coffee will say, “It’s decent enough. It doesn’t really taste like coffee.” At least everyone will agree on something.

This is more of an adult chocolate milk than it is an actually espresso drink. If I were handed a glass of this with no description I would assume it was some sort of weak malt drink. There probably sound like complaints, but I did enjoy the taste of this. In fact it is because it doesn’t have a strong coffee flavor that makes it a better drink. It is chocolate and sweet with a little something around the edges that makes it a little interesting.

Dunkin' Donuts Iced Latte Snickerdoodle

Dunkin' Donuts Iced Latte Snickerdoodle

Was there anything more disappointing that when you were in home economics in high school and they told you that you were going to make snickerdoodles only to find out that there is nothing similar between Snickers candy bar and snickerdoodle cookies? What a complete bummer. To this date, I still get mad when I eat snickerdoodles. It's not that they're bad but they’re no Snickers. I'll make you a Snicker cookie that would blow the lid off any of your dumb grandma's prized, award winning snickerdoodle cookies. Oh, I know they won the blue ribbon in Tennessee in 1953 against Mabel Johnson's apple pie but who gives a rip. Snickerdoodles will always be second to something with chocolate, caramel and nuts.

This, as disappointing as it may be, isn't bad. It's coffee and snickerdoodle. It would be like if you had a coffee and dipped a snickerdoodle in it and it broke off and you just went with the flow and let it marinate. It's sweet but cookies are sweet so if you didn't see that coming, you truly don't know what you're eating and have no imagination.

Also, if there was a fight, my maternal grandma would crush your grandma in a cook off. My paternal grandma would lose every time. No, not because she's dead but because she was a pretty terrible cook. She was a wonderful woman who lived through the Holocaust. It didn't enhance her cooking skills but what each of my grandmas was doing in their twenties was polarizingly different.

Silk Iced Latte Mocha

Silk Iced Latte Mocha

For the longest time, it was hard to find vegan coffee drinks. Besides smaller coffee shops and Starbucks, it's near impossible if you want anything besides a black coffee. For as large as Dunkin Donuts and Tim Hortons have become, you'd think they'd start offering drinks with soymilk by now. I have probably gone on this rant before but I don't care.

Lately I’ve been enjoying the new non-dairy coffee drinks that have been hitting the shelves like this one. It makes sense from a marketing stand point, they already have the key ingredient, might as well throw a little coffee in there. This particular one is decent, but not amazing. It has that chocolate milkshake feel that I was hoping for, but sadly the chalky taste of the soymilk really spoils the drink. I can't complain too much because this half gallon cost the same as a 12 oz iced soy mocha at any coffee shop so it gets a pass for it's cost and convenience factor.
