Glaceau Vitamin Water Zero Rise

Glaceau Vitamin Water Zero Rise

NASA has been having some trouble with their astronauts being little piggies. No lie those space commanders have become real porkers. Long gone are the days of the fit and cut astronauts from our youth. Instead they look more like your unemployed uncle on a good day. NASA decided something needed to be done. Not only is it bad for PR, but also the extra weight causes issues with the flights. They decided to launch a two tiered attack. The first thing they did was to start serving healthy vegan food in their cafeterias and on the flights (that is seriously not a lie, I just read about it today). Secondly, they decided that all of the sugar that “Major Tom” was injesting via Tang wasn’t helping at all. After half a century the relationship between the two companies was dissolved and our space scientists teamed up with Glaceau. Instead of the uber sugary Tang, astronauts now ingest a stevia sweetened alternative called Rise (get it, because they are rising to space). It really taste exactly like Tang with stevia instead of real sugar, but they do it well because they use less than 1% of the sweetener. It has a slight diet sting, but it’s mostly orange, and you can’t really ask for more than that. Now they just need to up the treadmill time. How are they supposed to find God (aka any array of Bowie characters) out there if they are too fat to get off the ground?

Glaceau Vitamin Water Zero Rhythm

Glaceau Vitamin Water Zero Rhythm

Jay isn't the only rock star in Thirsty Dudes. It's true. At one time, I used to play bass for a math, indie rock band. It was awesome and I had a lot of fun the entire time we were a band. We were all great friends and loved practicing. The drummer and I, making up the rhythm section were called "The Rhythm Section" and the singer and two guitar players were known as "The Turds," for no reason. It just came to be and that's how it always was. There was no rivalry or anything, it was just a name and it stuck.

This drink is called "Rhythm" and I like it. There is no food called "rhythm" but there is a starfruit and citrus flavored fruits, which make up this drink. I've got to say, it's pretty spot on. I've only had a starfruit once or twice in my life, but I've had enough "citric" fruits to be able to pick them out of a lineup. Those two mixed with the erythritol is a nice, cool, citric sweet treat that I somehow just destroyed a bottle in like ten minutes of casual drinking. I normally don't drink that fast so I'm either dehydrated or it's that good. I'll give those boys over at Vitamin Water the benefit of the doubt and call it a great drink.

Glaceau Vitamin Water Zero Squeezed

Glaceau Vitamin Water Zero Squeezed

I'm drinking this bottle at a historic moment. As I am writing this, the New York State senate just passed the bill to make same sex marriage legal in New York. I didn't time this, it just kind of happened as I was starting this review. Pretty awesome if you ask me!

I must say, it's a good fit. This flavor of Vitamin Water is awesome! I was expecting it to be watered down, but it has a lot of flavor to it. It has a good lemon taste that is just tart enough to make me smile. This may be my new favorite flavor of Vitamin Water. It’s a big surprise. Much like this bill passing.

Glaceau Vitamin Water Zero Drive

Glaceau Vitamin Water Zero Drive

Do you remember a few years back Fox had a pilot for a show called "Drive?" It was a pretty cool concept. Someone kidnapped this dude's family for undisclosed reasons and the only way to get them back would be to race from point A to point B and (probably) win. I don't know if you could earn your family back just from participating in a race and losing. That seems pointless. Needless to say, the show didn't get picked up, but I actually wanted it to. I don't know how you would keep a show based inside of a car interesting for 23 episodes to the general public, but I would have watched it. The "code name" for this drink is "drive" and I don't think that the driver of the kidnapped family would have been too keen to have this be his titular product. It's simply too strange.

You have to drink through garbage to get to "the good stuff" but then you're left with more garbage. This isn't one of those cliché "artificial sweetener" discussions either. It's kind of like you taking blood orange powder mix, which doesn't exist, putting it in your mouth, and then pouring the water directly into your mouth making juice in there. Obviously, the traditional, mom and pop, way of making juice is to put the juice in a container, mix water in, stir, and then drink. They skipped a couple steps and it shows.

I haven't really been impressed with the Vitamin Water Zero collection, thus far. Their LifeWater collection is better than this. If you're looking for a diet drink in this water-esque realm, stick with the LifeWater.

Glaceau Vitamin Water Zero XXX

Glaceau Vitamin Water Zero XXX

I couldn't have said it better than Zack. "It tastes a bit mediciny." It's lightly sweetened, decent flavor, but something is off. The longer you keep it in your mouth, the stranger it gets. I don't know why I keep things longer in my mouth. Maybe it’s because I'm a scientist. Because I am trying to get a place where this doesn't taste strange? I'm really not impressed. You know who else isn't impressed? Ice Cube and Ian Mackaye. Using "xxx" on this label serves less than no purpose. Is it a "codename" for the flavors? I guess that's what it is, but you know what? Those dudes don't like it. I don't even know them and they don't like it.

Glaceau Vitamin Water Zero Glow

Glaceau Vitamin Water Zero Glow

I've said it before, and I will continue to say it: I have yet to try a flavor of Vitamin Water that I don't like. I'm not saying that every flavor is amazing. I am just in the group of people that thinks they have yet to make a bad flavor. I continue to try all the new flavors and continue to be amazing by the consistency of how good they are.

As most people know, each flavor of Vitamin Water has a fun little blurb of text to help them stand out among all the other flavored waters. Since the name of this drink is "Glow", the blurb is all about how a supermarket is also a great place to meet people to date. It even goes on to say that if someone sees this bottle in your basket things will go good for you. I'm used to companies covertly (or in this case not so subtly) push their products onto the masses, but it always makes me uneasy. I highly doubt someone will be more attracted to someone if they had a bottle of vitamin water in their shopping cart.

I had never heard of a guanabana so I had to look it up. It grows on trees native to Mexico, Venezuela, Central America, the Caribbean and northern South America, Colombia and Brazil. Its flavor has been described as a combination of strawberry and pineapple with sour citrus flavor notes contrasting with an underlying creamy flavor reminiscent of coconut or banana.

I would love to try this fruit on it's own, but it is mixed with strawberry in this drink. It kind of tastes like a strawberry dipped in whipped cream, but not as heavy. It's actually really good, and I normally don't like strawberry flavored drinks. It has a very slight stevia aftertaste, but most people might not be able to tell that.

Glaceau Vitamin Water Zero Mega-C

Glaceau Vitamin Water Zero Mega-C

I have yet to have a bottle of Vitamin Water I didn't like. They're like a good friend, always awesome and always there when you need them. I normally don't like grape flavored drinks, but coupled with raspberry it's really delicious. The thing I love most about the "Zero" line of Vitamin Water is that it's not as heavy tasting, and doesn't taste like gross fake sugar.

Glaceau Vitamin Water Zero Go Go

Glaceau Vitamin Water Zero Go Go

It's weird putting this drink into the water category because like Mike said when he reviewed the dragonfruit Vitamin Water, this is much more like juice than water.

Anyways, this is part of the Vitamin Water zero calorie line of drinks. I like these a lot better than normal Vitamin Water because they're not as heavy tasting. As far as this flavor goes, it really lives up to its name because it truly tastes like mixed berries. Usually mixed berry drinks taste more like one or two berries, but I cannot distinguish any particular kind of berries in this. It's very delicious and refreshing.
