Honest Tea Black Forest Berry
Even though all I knew of iced tea for the majority of my life was black tea, I've been drinking so much white, green and mate tea lately that the flavor caught me off guard. After my initial shock at the taste of the tea, I really enjoyed this. As the bottle says it's "just a tad sweet." They got the amount for a "tad" perfectly. It's not bitter, nor is it diabetes inducing sweet. The berry flavoring isn't very overpowering either. Also, how can you say no to the little bear guy on the bottle?

DeDe Basil Seed with Honey
First of all, look at the large image of this. The flavor tells it all. Basil seeds. This didn't taste like what you would think and all I can use to describe it is if you took a banana Laffy Taffy and rolled it around in birdseed for texture. You know what I hate? Banana Laffy Taffy. If anyone has a good gag reflex and loved banana Laffy Taffy, this could potentially be the drink for you. Otherwise I might advise you stay clear.
This trip to the Asian market is slowly ending up in a bust. I've got to go back, but I might be less adventurous next time.

Koithan Apple Farm Apple Cider
Living in the North East part of these United States, I am familiar with "apple season." It's called "autumn" or "fall" for people outside of these here parts. Let me tell you how it goes, because it's important.
Typically families buy large plots of land and hand it down from generation to generation. They grow rows and rows and acres and acres of nothing but apple and sometimes pumpkins. They make their money by selling apples to local markets and by selling the worlds best cider, apple juice, donuts, and anything else you can make with apples. I'm telling you, you've never had a donut until you have a fresh apple cinnamon apple from an apple orchard. There's nothing like it in the world.
With farms like these, they make gigantic batches of apple cider throughout the season and they make it with different apples and sometimes they throw other fruits in there to create a line of beverages.
This cider is like a dream. It's some of the best cider I've had, but it's on par with other local ciders. It tastes like if you just crushed up apples and sold the juice and that's all it is. No preservatives, no sugar, no treatment. Get it while it's hot, get it while it's fresh, get it for a limited time. I won't even drink cider between the months of December and July since it's probably somehow treated, sweetened, and grossified.
Take a trip to New York some time and get a gallon of apple cider. You'll never think the same way about apples and apple juice will forever be the second best when it comes to apple flavored beverages.

Foco Thai Tea Drink
Another fantastic Thai tea. I love it. This jam clocks in at nearly 200 calories per can, so share with a friend unless you're trying to bulk up, but fitness aside, man, so good. It's very creamy and not at all light on flavor. One thing I see in this tea that I don't see in other Thai teas is little flakes. I don't know what they are, but they look like fish food. I'll drink it. I don't care. If it tasted like this and they were real fish food, I'd still drink it. I have to build up an immunity to it sometime, right? What if I'm trapped in a dungeon and all I have is water and fish food? I'll eat it. It's just fish anyhow. Yeah, fish food is made from fish. Fish are cannibals. Deal with it.

Ve Wong Guava Drink
I was a little frightened to try this beverage. After a week of binging on drinks bought at an Asian market, I was really expecting for there to be some wacky addition to the guava juice. Luckily I was wrong and it's just plain juice. I'm used to drinking guava nectar, so this is a change since it's not super thick. It's good though. It would make a nice breakfast juice. How did orange juice corner that market anyways? I mean it's good, but something like this would be way more refreshing.

Teddy's Root Beer
When I saw this bottle I was excited because it reminded me of the IBC root beer "40's" (actually 32oz) my friends and I in high school would buy and drink around Tonawanda, NY. Sadly, this is no IBC. It tastes like any generic root beer, not bad but not amazing. Plus, the HFCS makes it a really heavy root beer. There's also a great drawing of Teddy Roosevelt on the label.

Stewart's Fountain Classics Cream Soda
This is good cream soda. I'm better at reviewing drinks than playing video games. I say this because my primary concern is to drink and tell you about good cream soda rather than focus on killing terrorists with 8 year olds that are better than me.
This cream soda really isn't anything you haven't had before. That is a compliment as I have had some horrid stuff in the past. I wish that it was with cane sugar but you can't really taste the corn syrup over the cream and/or vanilla.

Romano's Italian Soda Vanilla Bean
I'm not that familiar with Italian sodas, but this one is delicious. It's one of the strongest vanilla flavorings I've ever tasted in a soda. This is like a cream soda with extra vanilla flavor. I'm excited to try the other flavors Romano's makes.

Mountain Dew Livewire
I am not a fan or original Mountain Dew. When they introduced Code Red, I enjoyed it but it wasn't the best. But when Livewire came out, I got really into it. I was drinking about a bottle a day. I couldn't get enough of it. These days, I'm not as crazy about it as I once was but it's definitely a good drink. It tastes like orange soda with a slight Mountain Dew after taste, but not as acidic. Not my favorite orange soda, but not bad.

Salutti Aloe Vera Getranke
I think I first had this somewhere in Texas a few years ago. No one I was with liked it even remotely except me. I loved it. I couldn't get enough of it. I finally found a store that had it in Buffalo, and I went crazy. I was drinking 2-3 huge bottles of it a week. I finally decided I needed to put an end to my madness, and I've limited the amount of it that I drink. Now I've found small bottles of it, and I'm afraid my problem is going to start up again.
It reminds me a lot of a really sweet white grape juice, without any of the weird grape acidity. It's also full of chunks of aloe, which is the greatest thing ever to me. I love drinking through my teeth, so I can strain them out, and then eat them after I swallow the liquid. If you have a problem with chunks in your drinks, this is obviously not for you. If you love pulp and the like, get adventurous and pick up a bottle.
Whenever I'm cooking and I taste something out of the pan, I always end up burning my throat and esophagus. Since aloe vera is used to help heal burns on your skin, I try to trick myself into thinking that if I drink this, it will heal my insides. I haven't been proven wrong yet.

Sobe Lifewater Yumberry Pomegranate
This seems to be my go to drink lately. Despite the name, this is far from water, even farther from water than Vitamin Water. It's lighter than juice, but more flavorful than water. This drink goes down really smooth and really quenched my thirst at work yesterday out in the hot sun. I've tried other flavors of Sobe Lifewater before, and none compare to this one. While the pomegranate flavor isn't that noticeable, yumberry definitely lives up to its name. The bottle was so full of flavor it was like a party in my mouth.

Reed's Spiced Apple Brew
I think someone at the Reed company opened up their blender on Thanksgiving ever and dumped all of their delicious leftover desserts and some carbonation in it. This is possibly my favorite drink that I've had in years. It's the quintessential autumn drink in my eyes. Whenever I have it I just want to be huddled around a campfire on a chilly night trying to keep warm. It's a carbonated apple cider with ginger, cinnamon and a whole bunch of other spices mixed in, but it doesn't taste like an air freshener like you might expect. I wish I could still find the smaller bottles of it. For now all I have available is the large bottles, and I have no self-control and I drink it all in one sitting.

Foco Pennywort Drink
First of all, let me explain the rating. I would not drink this again. It was quite an adventure. I know nothing of whatever pennywort is, and still don't. The image on the front looks like it would have been a drink made out of cilantro, which might have been good. This was better than I had thought it was going to be. The taste was very present. It's full sugar, full flavor, and full color. This was a dark drab green. I put it in a clear, plastic cup and I couldn't see my hand on the other side. I think if I had a glass half as wide I still wouldn't have been able to see it. The taste was just like a sweet tea that some jokester put grass clippings in. If you've even been bored, picked up some grass and put it in your mouth and chewed it, you would have a non-sweetened version of this.
I've had wheat grass and I guess it's a little bit like that, but at least wheat grass has a natural sweet and not an applied sweet. Does that make sense?
I save "1's" for drinks I simply can't finish and this is one of them. I don't feel the need to torture myself since I've got a fridge filled with other stuff. If I was trapped on an island and a case of this washed up on short, I'd drink it, but until then, I'll let someone else do it.

DG Jamaican Ginger Beer
When I was looking at this bottle I read it as "Bottled by PC Jamaica LTD. Jamaica WI." I thought it was hysterical that they made it in Jamaica, Wisconsin. Then my friend looked at the bottled, and confirmed as per usual that I am an idiot, and it said "Jamaica, W.I." How did I miss the periods that signify West Indies. So yes, this was actually made in the real Jamaica, and it is exactly what I expect from ginger beer. An instant burst of flavor followed by an increasing burning sensation. I don't even know how to describe the "heat" from ginger. It's nothing like the spiciness of peppers or wasabi. It is it's own thing, and it's concentrated in your throat, not your mouth. It's wonderful.

Mogu Mogu Lychee
I'll tell you what I love. Giving any drink with nata de coco or aloe vera in it to unsuspecting people. Who thinks that there are chunks in drinks? Who doesn't look at what they are drinking if it comes in a clear bottle? Suckers, that's who.
Onward to the review:
Way better than the apple lemon nata de coco drink I had last week. I'm not playing favorites, but this is better. The lychee gives it a nice floral aroma and the chunks were marinated with the hint of lychee so every time you bit into one, it's like a rush of flowers in your senses. The flavor isn't too sweet and doesn't have that poison sting that a lot of Asian drinks have.
This is on par with some lychee drinks I've had, which is good. Familiar. Familiar is good.

Fanta Red
Like candy. Drinking Red Fanta is like candy. It's terribly sweet, but so is candy. How else can I describe it? After doing 5 minutes of research, this Thailand favorite (purchased by me at an Asian food store) is a local favorite and holds it weight in gelding. Imagine paying someone in pop. That might be awesome and tooth decaying.
This small bottle went down smooth. It was very fruity and small enough that I don't feel the need to get a toothiotomy.

Trader Joe's Watermelon Juice
This went bad. Really bad. Terribly bad. Did I still drink it? Yep-ahh. I'm a glutton for punishment. I'll give you the back-story:
My girlfriend went to Vegas. She only won $100 but with the proceeds, she went to Trader Joe's, a store we don't have where we are from, and bought a handful of stuff that you can't get here. One of those drinks being this watermelon juice. She then came home, gave it to me, and I brought it to work to review.
So here I am, thirsty. After all, I am a thirsty dude. I say to myself that I'm going to try this watermelon juice because, after all, I like watermelon. I open the cap, hand it to my friend Mike (pictured) and he tries it, and quickly shows a face of utter disgust. "It tastes like someone crushed the watermelons with rubber." he says handing the bottle to me. I smell it, and it's putrid. I taste it...equally putrid. It tasted like you ate two day old, thrown out watermelon.
Think like you are a homeless person and you go through the garbage on a Monday after a back yard barbecue held the previous Saturday. You find what looks like a perfectly good slice of watermelon, but lo and behold, it is not. Put that in a bottle and sell it and that's what you've got.
This was probably out of the fridge for too long during transport so I might re-rate this at a later date. If someone else has had this with better luck than myself, please tell me otherwise. If this is how it tastes, share this link with your friends so that they stop making garbage watermelon juice.

Glaceau Vitamin Water Energy
Tropical? Yes.
Quenching? Yes.
Pretty good? Yep.
As per most Vitamin Waters, they're pretty good. This one is no different. Everyone gives them flak because they're not good for you, and they're right, but calm down. Sometimes you need a bit of flavor in your life. You get a strong mango flavor so if you're not into it, put this back and get one of their other 15 flavors. Every time I look, they have more. You don't get a strong fake sugar flavor to this either, which is excellent. There is both crystalline fructose and cane sugar, so their duo might cancel each other out. As per all other Vitamin Water's, I don't know what is the distinguishable difference between a "water" and a "juice". I can't see through this beverage so I assume it's a juice. If I poured it into a glass, I would say that it's juice.

Uni-President Bale Barley Black Tea
A letter from the desk of Mike Literman,
Dear Uni,
Are you sorcerers? What type of wizardry do you have in stock that you can do what you did? I was a bit standoffish when I read barley. I don't drink anything with barley in it so I don't know what it's used for other than beer. Whatever you did was a work of art. Now you're artists, you've been promoted/demoted from wizard. This barley black tea tastes like chocolate milk, and good chocolate milk. There is a little black tea, like it's a half and half with chocolate milk and black tea. It's very good. It's very, very good. I love you. It turns out barley isn't such a jerk after all.
Love,
Mike Literman

Sobe Energize Citrus Energy
I just don't think of Sobe as an energy drink. It's probably because it's not in a can. It just seems like a juice drink to me, even though it has ginseng, guarana and taurine. It also doesn't taste like an energy drink at all. It has a nice orange and lemon citrus flavor. There is a weird other taste to it, but it's still not an energy drink flavor. Hopefully I won't crash in a few hours from this.
