If you know me, you may know that I have stomach problems. I've had them since early high school. I have a tendency to get way stressed over things I can't control. I've learned to keep it to a minimum, but it seems my stomach issues are a permanent fixture in my life. I learned that high fructose corn syrup contributes to my problem as well. As long as I keep it to a minimum in my diet I won't be writhing in pain at night. Due to that back-story, you will understand how I was excited when we received a package of PRE in the mail. I was told that pro-biotic drinks would help with my issues, and I'm always looking for help.
I expected it to be a pretty thick drink, which it was not. Yogurt naturally has the same bacteria as they use in the drink, so I had associated the two. It ends up it has a similar consistency to a Vitamin Water. The flavor isn't that far off either, except unlike Vitamin Water this actually has real fruit in it. With passion fruit, oranges and guava in the mix, there are some pretty heavy hitters on this team. They blend together nicely to make this a winning drink.

I haven't eaten all day. It's quarter after twelve and I've been up for a good three hours. I would have slept in longer but between my dogs and my girlfriend calling me on my day off, I can't. I decided to take advantage of the day by:

• Cleaning up the backyard which was previously covered by snowy poop


• Strip some paint off the doors, which led to me taking the battery out of the smoke alarm and opening the doors to ventilate some smoke and fumes.


• Sit on the computer for an hour and wait for my company to come to a meeting which never started

All of this basically nothing led me to get a bit hungry. Since I didn't feel like making something to eat and there really isn't anything in the house to eat, I decided that today would be the day that I would test out a dietary supplement. Lucky for me, it was a delectable chocolaty treat.

I don't really like smoothies too much. All fruit ones are good, but once you start mixing things like carrots, beets, potatoes, and the like, it gets to be a little too much. When I saw that Bolthouse made a chocolate protein shake, I was intrigued and promptly bought it. Now it's been sitting in my fridge for about a month and I see it every time I open the door. I will say that this is a wonderful drink. It's super rich and smooth and doesn't at all taste like it has a ton of protein, vitamins, and minerals, but it's actually not that bad for you. Like many other Bolthouse drinks, there isn't additional sugar, just apple juice used as a sweetener, which is smart. It's really chocolaty and you could easily destroy the whole bottle and then probably feel a tad sluggish as you just ingested way too much.

Anyone who likes supplement drinks or protein shakes or someone who is on a diet and just wants to enjoy chocolate again, try this on for size.

We don't do a lot of powdered drinks. It's hard to keep a consistent flavor between batches or mixes. We have a few teas that we just haven't done because it's near impossible to get similar mixes. With this, though, it's pretty easy. First, I will say that I have one 16-ounce container and one packet of this mix. I shook it up and called it a day. Hopefully we can all meet on the same page with that.

So on to the review. I read the instructions and was psyched to see that the number one ingredient was cane sugar but then further down the list was Stevia. It is called a "synbiotic drink" and has prebiotics in it that are cultures of bacteria that clean you up from the inside out. In addition, it has probiotics and synbiotics, which are all used to build up immunity. All of Pre's drinks are like this. Thanks for thinking of my health, guys. They've got a bunch of different flavors, too. This was my first flavor and I thought it a safe place to start.

The pomegranate and yumberry is a common mix and we have some on the site, but the cane sugar couldn't beat the uber-sweet Stevia mix. It's not undrinkable, but it is not without the cold and sweet artificial sweetener taste. It's got a pretty good fruity flavor, though. It's a good change from those other powdered drink mixed.

I think that Pre is a new company so show them some love and pick some of this up.

I like flavored waters. I saw this and immediately bought it. I anticipated a night, light flavor but I was promptly let down. I am unfamiliar with the taste of agave but between this and the "natural organic pomegranate blueberry flavor" it tasted...fake.

I'm not the biggest fan of grapefruit. Why? I don't know. I just don't like it too much. This was not too much like grapefruit, though. It was more light, an ultra-light lemonade. It's not terribly sweet, but has a nice, lemonade tang/zip to it. It doesn't linger too long, which is nice because it's more refreshing that way.

If you love lemonade and want something a little (emphasis on "a little") different, give this a try. You won't be disappointed.

I have yet again fallen victim to thinking that everything that comes in a tiny can being carbonated. It ends up that this is a bunch of juice concentrates mixed together with some vitamins and minerals. It tastes like a very light orange juice. It's as if they made watered down orange juice taste good.
I may have been fooled by the non-carbonation, but I understand hey packaged it in this way to give kids the appearance that they are partaking in a big boy drink. Anything that gets kids to drink more juice I'm okay with.

This is Pure Organics' take on a post exercise drink, such as Gatorade. It is worlds better than other brands I've had. It actually contains 25% juice, yet still has all of the Electrolytes and such to restore your body after a work out.
It is certainly is the most flavorful thing I've ever drank in this line of beverages. All three flavors are distinctly there, and they come to you in waves.
So far this company can do no wrong in my book.

I have to be honest. I never would have bought this. It probably would have been one of the last drinks to ever get reviewed on Thirsty Dudes. I was going back to my car from the grocery store and there was a cart next to my car with a six-pack of Propel in it. Keep in mind there were no other carts, or cars for that matter, around my car at all. Since no one was around to claim it, that 101.4 fluid OZ became mine.
I pawned most of them off on friends, as I figured it was going to be pretty gross. Today I decided it was time for me to drink the last remaining bottle. It wasn't nearly as bad as I had anticipated. The black cherry flavoring is very strong. A little too strong for my liking, but I could still get through a bottle of it. It's a little thicker than water as well. I might actually like this more if I watered it down.
When I'm looking a drink that is full of vitamins and antioxidants I'm going to go with a juice, but for people who like other options this really isn't a bad one.

Ugh. Look. I just had the gnarliest food poisoning of my life. Worst. It destroyed me. Annihilated, I threw up so hard I fell out of bed. No, I'm not exaggerating. So what do I remember I have in my fridge? This Genesis Inner Boost drink, which is supposed to support detoxification and internal cleansing. What better thing to drink after getting internally crushed by bad seafood? Uh, well, I'll tell you. Anything. I could not like this drink any less. Yes, any less. Took two sips and couldn't touch the stuff. Number 1 ingredient, pear juice, 2; strawberry juice; 3, raspberry juice; 4, grape juice. All good, right? Yeah? Could it be #5, the dreaded Noni berry? I don't know. I'm not a large fan of pears, they are like crappy apples, but this didn't really taste like it. It didn't really taste like anything and smelled even worse.

This drink might be for someone and I'm not looking for something special, too fruity, too dry, too thick, too thin, whatever, I don't care. This seemed borderline undrinkable, like I could give it to 100 people and 100 people would say, "No, not for me." I'm clearly and evidently one in 100.

There is really only the faintest of grapefruit flavoring in this tea. It mainly tastes like tea with the GABA in it. The only time I've ever tasted it was in this line of Jones. I'm not really a big fan. This will be the last one of these that I will be reviewing. They all taste similar and not too exciting.

I've been putting off trying this diet Function that was sent to us. I really disliked the other diet Function I had. This one really wasn't that bad at all. It lacked that overly diet taste that I had expected. Instead the fruit flavor was the strongest to my taste buds. I might go as far as to say this is the most un-diety diet drink I've ever had. Go ahead, give it a try.

Not the worst. That's saying something because when it comes to that yumberry one I've had in the past. It smells a bit like pear, according to my friend Mike. The taste isn't too strong and for that reason, it wins. It's a melon-y, watered down lemonade taste. It's not bad. It's probably a great diet drink because, after all, it has 0 calories.

This is by far, and so far, my favorite Function drink. From the first smell of it I knew I was going to like it. It has a very light flavor. Very light. It's not too sweet at all and actually goes down really smooth. It's essentially a juice as far as I'm concerned. I don't really know what a "dietary supplement" is when it's like this. I can see a protein shake being a dietary supplement. Should I have not had the other half of yesterday's roast beef sub with this? Should I have just drunk this? I should try drinking more and eating less. Perhaps that is the point of a dietary supplement.

Anyhow, it's very strong in it's cherry flavor and you don't really get a whole lot of pomegranate except for at the "end" of your sip. It's light, simple, not too sweet, and it claims to combat sickness, hangovers, and pollutants. Not a bad gig, right?

This tastes diet. It really tastes like there's artificial sweetener in it, but nope, just sugar. It has a faint raspberry taste, but that diet flavor, just takes over. Maybe that's what camu camu tastes like. I had never even heard of it before I saw this drink.
It does have a bunch of vitamins in it, but the health benefits from those are worth dealing with the flavor to me.

My first experience with Viso was this summer at the Portland Zine Symposium. Viso was kind enough to donate 50 cases of their products to the 2 day zine fest. Seeing as I was one of the organizers and barely slept that weekend, Viso's energy drinks were what kept me going.

I picked this bottle up at the store thinking it was an energy drink. To my surprise, it wasn't. The bottle labels it as a dietary supplement, but it's sorta like Vitamin Water. This thing is loaded with vitamins (12 to be exact) plus minerals, calcium, and a whole lot more. On top of that, it's an organic drink and is a local company to Portland.

As far as taste goes, I'm not crazy about it. It doesn't go down really smooth. While I can taste the strawberry and key lime, immediately after there's a strong bitter after taste. After drinking a few sips of it, there's a thick feeling in the back of my throat that makes it hard to swallow. I've had this same thing happen with every flavor I've tasted, so perhaps there's something in it that's making my throat do that.

I know a lot of people in Portland love this drink, but I can't really get into it. While it's a good company and a super healthy drink, it just doesn't taste good to me.

I didn't expect this to be so fruity. I drank an acai drink earlier today, and this didn't really taste like acai, but it was still tasty. It kind of tasted like if some really good fruit punch was mixed with Vitamin Water. There is a weird mixture of ingredients in this. Purple Sweet Potato Extract? Strange. It is an all-natural energy drink, so that's nice. I always appreciate energy drinks that aren't "toxic tasting" and full of weird man made chemicals.

Woah guava. Holy guava? Which sounds better? Just opening this bottle, you get a rush of guava. Tasting it...different. Initially, I didn't like it. It tasted like...unripened fruit, but I think that it's just actual fruit. This is me giving them the benefit of the doubt. After you kind of "get it", it gets better. It's not an ultra sweet drink. Strong scent, but light flavor. You do get strawberries, no doubt, but don't expect "candy" like strawberry.

I'm not into energy drinks, so the fact that this is and doesn't taste like a handful of Skittles is pretty great. This is a dietary supplement and I also a time-release energy drink. I never really do anything with an exorbitant amount of caffeine so chances are I would not drink something like this on a regular basis. I don't really get those mid-day sleepies that a lot of people get, but I feel that it's one of those "I always drink coffee at the same time so I crash" things. It's one of the perks to not drinking coffee ever.

All in all, it's not bad. If you are looking for something better than coffee and (probably) better than those 5 Hour Energy shots, give this a whirl. After all physicians created it.

When I was in high school, I drank Powerade almost every day because it was the only thing besides water in the vending machines before 1pm. I know a lot of people hate the taste, but I don't mind it at all.

Nowadays, I only drink Powerade (or Gatorade) when I'm sick. I made an exception today because I am a big fan of sour drinks so I had to try this. While it does have a slight sour flavor, it's definitely not as strong as I hoped it would be. When I drink/eat something sour I want my lips to pucker. Sadly this didn't happen.

Also, this really doesn't taste like melon. It might be the color that's throwing my taste buds off, but it tastes more like green apple to me. Overall it's a decent drink, and probably the best Powerade flavor I've ever had. It's super refreshing and makes me feel like I should be playing kickball at the park with a bunch of my friends.

This instantly reminds me of a much higher quality Gatorade. It has a very similar taste to their lemon lime drink, but it's a lot lighter, and the taste is stronger. I had no idea what Calamansi was, so I had to do some research. It turns out it is a citrus fruit from Southeast Asia.
I'm pretty sure Function has discontinued this line, but if you find it I suggest picking some up. If you're in the market for a sports drink that actually has natural additives in it that will help with your recovery time, look no further.

All diet-ness aside this wasn't bad. As far as diet drinks go, this was actually pretty good. A little tinge from the sweeteners and the acai, but even as far as acai drinks go, it was one of the better drinks I've had.

My hat off to Function for actually creating a drink that has five, yeah, that's right, 5, calories and 1 gram of sugar and not having it taste putrid. If you are on a diet, and you are looking for something different, try this out. This company is pretty fantastic and has actual scientists behind their drinks.
