Honest Ade Orange Mango

Honest Ade Orange Mango
If drinks, the liquid themselves could be played on the radio, this would be a Top 40 hit. Much like Beyonce, this drink is approachable by all, doesn't offend anyone, and is safe with kids and adults alike. Unlike Beyonce, I don't want to take this home more than a few times. It's very...standard. A bit watered down, which I like, but it's nothing to call yo' mama about. Why did I channel Wilmer Valderrama in that last sentence? Mostly because I can do whatever I want in this text area. This tastes like orange mangos. If that's what you want, wicked. You're set. Buy a case of this guy.

I guess it takes a strong man, or an idiot to turn down a drink that aims to quench everyone. This drink is organic. It's as good for you as juice can be, and it tastes exactly like it's supposed to. So why am I "dissing" it? Well, unlike Vince Vaughn, this site puts me in a position To "Dis" Or "Give Props" to drinks. This drink is just too darn easy.

Honest Tea Passion Fruit Green Tea

Honest Tea Passion Fruit Green Tea
Sometimes drinks speak to me. No, not in a crazy way. Sometimes I see a drink and I just have to have it. This, for some reason, I had to have. I grabbed it, threw it on my shelf only to completely forget about it for about two weeks. Today, while picking my drinks for the day, I came across it and thought, "Oh yeah. I really wanted this." so in the bag and to work it went.

On first sip, it was very Stevia-esque. On second sip, I could start tasting what was supposed to be happening. Are you a graphic designer? Sure you are. Everyone and their brother is a graphic designer. As soon as you touch MS Paint (or Mac equivalent) and design your first birthday card, you say to yourself, "This is all a graphic designer does? Well, looks like I am going to design my album art for my band The Death Of A Thousand Suns Birthday." This drink is a gradient if I've ever tasted one. It does start out very Stevia, but then it slowly fades into a passion fruit that is actually quite nice. The green tea doesn't really come out to play for me.

I'm interested to see what else Honest does in this "zero calorie" line. I like a range of their drinks and am always game to try new ones.

Honest Tea Green Dragon Tea With Passion Fruit

Honest Tea Green Dragon Tea With Passion Fruit
The Honest company has a small team of knights that it keeps on it's payroll. There are really only three of them, but they are in the upper echelon of the payroll, even though they only have one job to perform. That job is to distract without killing the dragon that guards the green tea that lives on a certain mountain whose location I cannot reveal due to legal reasons.

Not only is this physically tolling and extremely dangerous to the knights, but the psychological damage is through the roof. You see knights are programmed from birth to kill dragons. It takes all of their will power and concentration to merely distract the beast and not kill it. That is the true reason for their astronomical salaries.

40 knights once agreed that it was well worth it to taste the tea that their efforts brought forth. It's just a shame that 37 of the 40 perished in the line of duty. The few that are left have discovered that if you mix in a little passion fruit with the tea the already wonderful taste is improved upon. It's still a bitter green tea taste, but the slight fruity hint gives the tea a new dimension. Here's to hoping that the final three knights live long and productive lives!

Dear Sir, are you a liar? No. Well, that's good enough for me. I believe you about your tea. I mean Honest is your name. This certainly tastes like brewed green tea and nothing else. Good job and keep up those truths.

Honest Tea Assam Black Tea

Honest Tea Assam Black Tea
I like a lot of Honest Tea's tea. Is that redundant? I don't care. I like a lot of it, which is good because there is a lot of it to like. They definitely crank out flavor after flavor and never look back. I look at the shelves more than one should and I'm not even surprised when I can't keep up to what they come out with; this, CocoNova, Ade, and so on and so forth.

I think that this is a tricky one. If you make a cup of tea, and add one sugar packet, you're pretty set. It's a good ratio. This tastes like a gallon of black tea with one sugar packet. It's in there, but it's so lightly in there that you almost wish it was not there at all. It's not a bad tea, but for my money, this is too "Just a tad sweet" for me. I do, on the other hand, appreciate the maple syrup as an additional sweetener and flavoring. It's light in the mix, but it's there and you like it. It's bitter, almost like a green tea, but it's black tea.

I like this tea, but there are other teas out there that do what this tea does better. I am sure that this will sell like hotcakes, just not to me.

Honest Tea Classic Green Tea

Honest Tea Classic Green Tea
Look, even though I live in Buffalo and Niagara Falls is twenty minutes, that doesn't mean that I don't go. Today, I went in Maid of the Mist which takes you inside the center of the horseshoe falls and gets mist all up ons. I also went to the Niagara Falls aquarium, which I can also accurately dub "the worst aquarium I've ever been to" unfortunately. Niagara Falls smells like Indian food because on almost any given street in the touristy part is five Indian restaurants per block. It's a bit excessive, but if you go up a couple blocks you'll find yourself in "Little Italy" and there are twice as many Italian restaurants. I don't know how it's possible to have some many Italian restaurants selling the same thing all in the same mile strip and not go out of business. I mean, how many people can you honestly spread to twenty-seven different of the same restaurant? Seems dumb.

So it was a nice day, real nice. Eighty with no clouds. All sun, not too muggy. Nice, you know? After I got out of my tourist day, I came home and worked in my yard like a good neighbor should. I worked up quite a thirst and now I'm sitting here listening to The Urge's 1995 "Receiving the Gift of Flavor" and drinking this well deserved tea and I've got to say two things:

1. I like it. It's a great, bitter tea with a little sure. So little sugar that if you ordered a non-sweetened tea in a restaurant and they brought you this, you wouldn't care. Responsibly sweet.

2. I could make this. It's green tea, which you can get anywhere and yeah, I bet there is a patented process that they do to make it they way that they do but I've made tea like this before using hot water and probably pretty low quality tea bags and one pack of "Sugar in the Raw".

This is not meant to diss Honest because they make some gems and if you like or love or have any sort of good relationship with green tea, you will love this because it's like your Asian mom or best friend's Asian mom made you. White moms don't make their kids green tea. I had one. I know.

Steve Ewing, this drink is for you. I wish you had released another record after "Too Much Stereo."

Honest Ade Zero Calorie Classic Lemonade

Honest Ade Zero Calorie Classic Lemonade
Today is the first day of summer. If nothing else that means that lemonade season is upon us. The days are hot and sticky. Even sitting still sweat pours down your face. Everyone hates and loves it in equal amounts. Water and soda just won't cut it. You need something that gets down to the heart of the matter for pure unadulterated refreshment. You really only have two options a Slurpie from 711 or lemonade. Since Slurpies aren't always available lemonade wins out almost every time.

Honest knows how to quench a thirst. They also know that there are a lot of people watching their weight and sugar intake. Being the smart people they are they also know that artificial sweeteners are beyond gross. They like to keep it natural, so they went with stevia.

I just got home from work. I'm completely drenched with sweat, and I need to get ready so that I can meet up with the other Thirsty Dudes for tacos. I still took the time to sit back relax and enjoy this lemonade. It has a very natural lemon taste, but with the cold bite of stevia. You can't win 100% with diet, but stevia is the sweetener that will get you the highest percentage possible. Sit back enjoy and for goodness sake slather on some sunscreen. We don't want you looking like a lobster.

Honest Tea Peach Oo-La-Long

Honest Tea Peach Oo-La-Long
Sir, I'd like to hire you to work for our company. We're looking for someone who can go through all of our peaches and pick out the finest ones to be used in our teas. Your outwardly French disposition leads me to believe that you would be perfect for the job. Sir don't tell me that the French have no history with peach picking. I am the head of this corporation. Do you think I came this far without knowing a thing or two about the different nationalities and their fruit traits? I'm just going to need some information from you. Can I please see your passport and work visa? What do you mean you don't have them? Carol get me immigration on the horn, we have an illegal in the office! Why should I listen to you explain? What could you possibly say to make me not call the authorities? What? You're a penguin? I'm sorry I thought your beak was just a comically over-sized nose. So a French penguin huh? Well you surely don't have any peach experience. How about you just model for the image on our label? Okay let's keep this on the down low. I don't want any animal INS on my butt about hiring illegal birds.

So we learned today that penguins know squat about peaches and that the fictitious head of the company that I made up can't tell someone with a huge nose from a penguin. What I also learned was that oolong tea is halfway between black and green tea, and it definitely tastes that way. Also this tea is delicious. It's supposed to have a little more sugar than the other Honest Teas, but I can't really tell. It's "just a tad sweet" just the way I like it.

Honest CocoaNova Mint Cacao

Honest CocoaNova Mint Cacao
While passing this drink around the office, I received mixed results. Everyone said it was good, but I think that they wanted it to be thicker. Look, I would love to try a thicker version of this drink, but if Honest wanted a thicker drink, they would have made it, so drop it already. Jeez! So this drink, I like it. It's got a good dark chocolate bitter taste. It really tastes like a really dark chocolate candy bar. The mint lingers at the tail end, almost like an Andes mint that you would get after a delicious steak dinner. Oh, you're vegan? Do vegans eat steak? No? Fair enough. After a nice meal of a salad and a side of carrots since the restaurant that I took you to has a limited menu. I'm sorry. I didn't make it up. It's not my fault that they don't cater to people that don't eat anything from animals. It's a steakhouse. Why did you even agree to come? Come on. Let's go get you some cereal or something.

Honest Tea Heavenly Lemon Tulsi

Honest Tea Heavenly Lemon Tulsi
This drink makes me want to, like Sleepytime Gorilla Museum says, party like it's 1997. What was I doing in '97? Playing with friends, all the time. Not worrying about girls. Just playing. One thing we played was WWF Royal Rumble for Super Nintendo. To this day, those are the only wrestlers that I know so when people are like, "Oh, did you hear about what John Cena did to The Miz", I have to respond with, "No, but what ever happened to Razor Ramon?" This drink is like a wrestling match where summertime is meeting winter in a no holds barred cage match in my mouth. On one side, we've got a nice, lemon tea. It's got multiple lemon elements to it including lemon peel, lemon myrtle, lemon juice, and lemon extract. It's a lot, but it is not gross, friends. Trust me. So that's summer. Winter is that whatever else is in this tea mixed with (probably) whatever tulsi is, makes it taste almost like a light cider. No apple, just the feeling of cider. Bold. It leaves a nice homemade lemon tea taste, but when you're drinking it, you've got everyone fighting. At the end everyone wins. Oooh, Sorry. I should have written "Careful: Spoilers" at the top, shouldn't I. Sorry.

Honest CocoaNova Mocha Cacao

Honest CocoaNova Mocha Cacao
This has been sitting in my fridge waiting for the perfect moment to drink it. It sounded incredible. The Honest company has a history of making amazing drinks, so when I learned that they made a chocolate line I was very interested. I'm not a huge fan of coffee, but I have enjoyed every Mocha that I've ever tried. You know Mocha, hot chocolate with a little kick. I hardly consider it coffee. It's more of a chocolate drink with a little coffee added.

Since today is supposed to be the so-called rapture, I decided it was now or quite literally never. I guess that's not true. If it were the rapture all of the good Christians would be raised up to heaven while my friends and I had some more time left to suffer on Earth. I would celebrate that suffering with a whole mess of drinks. Seeing as it's all a fairy tale anyways I will drink this mocha cacao in celebration of me being intelligent enough to realize that angels aren't going to come carry people away today.....or ever.

On first smell this has a weird scent. Almost like the chocolate milk that is left in the bowl after you eat some Coco Puffs, but stronger. I took a sip, and this was not what I was expecting at all. It was as if they melted down baking chocolate, watered it down and added two shots of black coffee. First you're hit by the watery baking chocolate taste. It's bitter, but not the good bitter like when you get some quality dark chocolate. As you hold it in your mouth that flavor stays, but as soon as you swallow and take a breath the coffee sets in. I always find it odd when drinks have distinct waves of flavor. In some juices it's nice, but for this it's not working for me. I would have preferred this all blended into one tight flavor.

I really, really wanted to like this, but to be honest I couldn't make it through half of the bottle. I had expected a richer chocolate taste. If you really like coffee maybe it will be something you really enjoy. I'll pass it off to an angel if I see one today.

Honest Tea Mango Acai White Tea

Honest Tea Mango Acai White Tea
Honest Tea is fairly common. You might not find it in every gas station or mini mart, but a majority of grocery stores I've visited have it. Due to the fact that it's right in front of my face all of the time, I tend to take them for granite. For that Honest I am sorry. Every time I end up picking up one of your drinks I am reminded of the high level of quality that you keep in your beverages. This tea is no different.

It's made from white tea, which in case you didn't know if the same plant as green and black teas, but it's harvested a lot earlier. This way it has less caffeine and more of those crazy antioxidants everyone is talking about these days. To add even more antioxidants they added acai to the mix. You can't really taste that particular fruit in the mix and I for one am okay with that. It gets put into everything now a days and I'm getting a little sick of it. The mango on the other hand shines through nicely. It lets the tea do most of the talking in the flavor conversation, but it still puts in some good points every now and then. Another good thing about the Honest company is that they don't over-sweeten their teas. They use cane sugar and agave syrup to make the tea "just a tad sweet." Something I greatly appreciate.

Honest CocoaNova Cherry Cacao

Honest CocoaNova Cherry Cacao
How would one categorize this? It's not like anything I've ever had. I can't believe it's on the market by such a prominent company. I like Honest. They give the general public credit. No, not everyone has to drink sugary drinks. They are all over the place with tea, lemonade, and now this. It smells like a cherry cordial but tastes like watered down chocolate milk mixed with Maraschino cherry juice mixed in, you know, for fun. Thing is, it's not bad. It's got a little bitterness from the dark chocolate and a little fruit taste from the cherry. It's drinkable, though. If it had been thicker and richer, it would be too thick to drink a lot of. These are small bottles with low calories and it's different. I know, I know, redundant. I kept going back again and again and it didn't matter. It was always good and I can't wait to try the other flavors.

It's not a "safe" drink for a company to make and for that reason you should try it. Honest tea is taking a risk on people trying something new and for that reason, you should try something new. It's as simple as that.

Honest Tea Jasmine Green Energy Tea

Honest Tea Jasmine Green Energy Tea
If I was an expert on such things, and being a scientist I would say I am an expert on all things, I would say that jasmine tea is the cleanest of all teas. Per capita I bet jasmine has less dirt and filth on it than any other tea. Do a study on it I dare you! You can tell by the taste. It's a tea made for germaphobes.

This in particular is one of the best jasmine iced teas I've ever tasted. Most that I've come by have been unsweetened, which is all well and good. Honest decided to sweeten it ever so slightly with agave, my hats off to them for that. It's just a little, but it evens out the bitterness to a perfect degree. With every sip the floweriness of jasmine hits you first and then it passes the torch onto the bitterness of the green tea. If they ran a relay race they would surely win the gold.

The flavor is called "Jasmine Green Energy Tea" not only because of the caffeine in the teas used (to be honest this whole bottle has the amount of caffeine as half a cup of coffee), but also because the company donates money towards renewable "green" energy. I missed Earth Day by 19 hours with this, but I will pretend it's still going on.

Honest Tea Organic Mango Green Tea

Honest Tea Organic Mango Green Tea
I drank half of this bottle at work last week. I hadn't finished it by the time I left so I threw it in the fridge when I got home, and planned on finishing it later that night. During the next few hours it got lost in the sea of beverages that my refrigerator has become. It somehow resurfaced this afternoon. I guess the tide must have been low during the hours of 3 to 5.

Like most, if not all, Honest products this is made with organic tea, cane sugar and natural fruit flavor. It's a solid drink. It's a nice bitter green tea with a slight mango flavor. It delivers what it promises. It's true, Honest Tea are no liars.

Honest Tea Organic Pomegranate with Acai White Tea

Honest Tea Organic Pomegranate with Acai White Tea
Oh white tea you are so...what's the right word...dry(?) tasting. Whenever I have white tea it always feels like the moisture is getting sucked out of my tongue. I mean I don't feel like Ned Nederlander, but neither am I feeling like Dusty Bottoms in the desert canteen scene from Three Amigos. Seriously how great is that scene? Okay, entire movie? I would really like to shake John Landis' hand for casting those three fellas together. It's comedic gold!

Okay, so here I am slightly drying out my tongue as I drink this tea, trying not to get carried away on a childhood favorite of mine. Like the label says this is "Just a tad sweet." It's also just a tad flavored. You can taste the pomegranate, but it's the white tea that is the prominent flavor. I'm okay with that. I enjoy a tea that is more tea than fruit juice.

The trifecta combination of the white tea, pomegranate, and acai gives this beverage a crazy antioxidant property. Drink it for health, drink it for refreshment, drink it for taste, or drink it because you're in the desert and your canteen turns out to be full of sand. Just make sure you give it a try.

Honest Mate Maqui Berry Mate

Honest Mate Maqui Berry Mate
Some drinks are hard to review. They are good, but I don't know what to say about them. I really, really like this tea. I've actually drunk a couple of them over the past few days since they were on sale for $.70 each. It's bitter because of the mate, and because like a lot of the Honest teas it's "just a tad sweet." The maqui adds a slight berry taste, but it blends in so well with the mate that you don't even notice it's there. They are packed full of antioxidants, so you're upping your health with each sip. I really wish I had something more interesting to say about this. It's just a solid drink. I'm going to end up drinking a lot of these. Maybe I'll think of something more to add after drinking it again.

Honest Tea Organic Passion Fruit Green Tea with Maqui Berry

Honest Tea Organic Passion Fruit Green Tea with Maqui Berry
The Honest company knows what they are doing when it comes to iced teas. We even used their teas for the picture of us pounding drinks in our header. It looks like they are now trying their hand at some 0 calorie teas. They seem to know what they are doing with that as well.

This has that tell tale diet taste to it, but it's mellowed out nicely by the green tea and the passion fruit. To be honest, I don't know why they don't just eliminate the sweeteners completely from diet drinks. Instead they add either artificial or in this case stevia. Sure stevia is much better than those gross artificial sweeteners, but it just seems unnecessary. If someone is on a diet, they should be able to live without sweeteners in their tea. Unsweetened tea is delicious. A lot of the time I prefer it to the sweetened variety. If you're trying to lose weight, make some sacrifices. Not only will it be healthier for you, it will also taste better.

Unfortunately the rest of the world doesn't agree with that, so companies have to step it up. Honest Tea did a great job here.

Honest Tea Honey Green Tea

Honest Tea Honey Green Tea
Honest is a good consistent brand. Everything that they have tastes good and you are never knocked out with something unexpected. That's why I can put my hand in any cooler with Honest, move my hand around all willy-nilly, and come out with something I'd be pleased with. I don't know where and when and why I would ever do this, as I like the ability to have choice in my world.

There is a good green tea taste at the end and in the beginning there is a good 50/50 fight between green tea and honey. It is a very good, true mix. I am actually surprised that you haven't had it. Have you had it? Why are you reading this if you've had it? It's like reading a book after you've seen the movie. Everyone knows that the movie is always better than the book. Movies are made first and then books are just the transcribed versions of that. People that say, "Oh the book is better than the movie." are wrong and probably can't read. I can't wait for them to make a Thirsty Dudes movie. I want to play that strawberry blonde Adonis, Jay.

Honest Kids Super Fruit Punch

Honest Kids Super Fruit Punch
In my opinion, this is what kids need. I know there are tons of juices out there that are healthy and 100% juice, but kids are kids and they want fruit punch, not apple and orange juice. Fruit punch is something to get excited about. It's what juice box dreams are made of. Honest has made a great fruit punch. It's tastes delicious, and it has "1/2 the sugar of most kid's drinks," or so the bottle tells me.
Most fruit punch just tastes like a hodgepodge of random fruits all mixed into one general flavor. In this you can taste the individual flavors. You know what one of those flavors is? It's watermelon. How sweet is that? I've never had a drink that actually tasted like watermelon before, and not like a watermelon Jolly Rancher (which are revolting).
If you have kids and you want to get them excited about juice, give this a shot. I may not technically be a child, but it still worked for me.
