Celsius Green Tea Peach Mango
Jay has been hyping this drink up to me for a while. I don't think it was this flavor, but he swears by it and bought a case for himself. For a guy who tries several new drinks a day to buy a whole case of one flavor means a lot.
Most people wouldn't dream of drinking something that is supposed to give you energy at 1:45 am. Luckily, I'm not most people. I am very much a night owl and usually get my best work done between the hours of 10pm and 4am. I've only had a few sips so far and I'm already feeling much more awake then I was 20 minutes ago as I was lugging my laundry up from the basement. So for functionality, this is awesome!
As far as taste goes, much like Jay's experience with the raspberry acai flavor, this leaves a lot to be desired. It has a strong green tea flavor, which is great for someone who loves green tea (I am not one of those people). The peach mango flavors are much more subtle, and are almost afterthoughts in each sip. And then of course you have the fake sugar (sucralose) which makes it all the more undesirable. It's cool to have a non-carbonated, non-soda like energy drink for a change. Unfortunately, I won't be running to the store and buying a case of this flavor.

Arizona Virgin Coctail Pina Colada
You know who loved pina coladas? The Indians. Native Americans. Sorry. You think Arizona just arbitrarily put an Indian on the bottle? They had to earn it. For hundreds of years, Native Americans would ride on horseback from New Mexico to Puerto Rico in order to get authentic pina coladas. The horses never liked riding on the boats so often times they would have to let people in Cancun borrow their horses until they got back. Often times, they would come back and there would be ponies since they were gone enjoying pina coladas for so long. Once in Puerto Rico, they would order coconut after coconut filled with the milk as well as ground up pineapples and the finest rum that not a lot of money could by. They would fill their backsacks with coconuts right off the tree and pineapples off whatever pineapples come off of. I assume trees as well.
When the Native Americans heard that Arizona was making pina colada, they jumped on their horsies and rode to Arizona, only to find out that Arizona is actually based out of Upstate New York. They decided to just call them using their cellular phones and thank them. Arizona was so happy that the Indians liked their drink that they decided to take Stacy Keach off and replace it with the Indian leader at the time.
What the Indians liked about the Arizona is not only that it came in a resealable container, but that it used the finest coconuts like they got from Puerto Rico. The pineapple to coconut ratio was spot on and it was so well sweetened that it didn't need rum. They say that it gets to be a little too much for one person so they typically split it with their friends.
They thought that Arizona did such a nice job that they put one of their horses on a plane and shipped it to New York where Arizona built a nice employee ranch where they can go during lunch breaks and ride it and feed it out of their hands.

Coba Aguas Frescas Mango
A lone luchador sits in a dimly lit locker room in a dusty Mexican town. He knows he's getting too old for this, but he wrestles for pride and the money he is paid certainly helps with his bills. He's pretty sure he has a couple of broken ribs from his last match. Never fight in a tag team match when you don't know much about your partner. His was a good for nothing so-and-so just parading around the mat. He was self-centered fool, and they paid for it with the crunch of bones. The luchador can hear the announcer psyching up the crowd. It won't be long before he has to go out in the ring. This will probably be his last match and with his injuries he will get clobbered.
Just then he notices a little boy from the town in the shadows. He calls him over and the boy hands him a bottle and simply says, "mahn-go." Underneath his mask the luchador gives a little smile. He flexes and growls which scares the boy off, leaving his bottle of juice behind. The wrestler unties the back of his mask and lifts it just enough so that his mouth is exposed. As he twists the cap off of the bottle he notices that whoever made it took a lot of care with their label. The paper has a very special texture. He takes a sip and memories of the ancient city of Coba flood into his mind. When he next becomes aware of his surroundings the bottle is empty and he is filled with a renewed sense of purpose. On his lips there is a lingering flavor of ripe mangoes. It is one of the best things he has tasted in recent times. It's sticky and sweet in all of the right ways. He knows what he has to do. He marches out just as the announcer is calling his name. As he enters the ring he knows that he will win this fight for his heritage. Oh, and for the couple of hundred dollars that is the purse. He has some alimony and child support that he owes his ex wife and her lawyer has been sending a lot of threatening letters.

Gatorade Perform 02 Lime Cucumber
It's 90 degrees out and you're exhausted. Not only that, but you're also drenched in sweat from playing basketball with the neighborhood kids. Sure their average age is 13, but that didn't stop you from dunkin' on them left and right. After you scored 27 points they told you that you were a prick and took their ball home with them. Maybe you were a bit harsh on them, but if you're not how else are they going to learn to try harder? Also, you looked super rad doing those windmill dunks. You looked exactly like that MJ silhouette. Good thing Johnny next door has one of those hoops that you can adjust the height on. There's no way you would have been able to do that on a regulation net.
Now you're home and the AC is kicking in your pad. You're "old lady" said she has just the drink for you. She presents this Gatorade like it is a holy grail. She says it has cucumber in it, like she uses on her eyes. That way you won't get wrinkles on your insides. What is she crazy? You thinking that watching her stories has finally broke her. Oh well you're completely parched and dehydrated. As soon as you open it smells like you live on a cucumber farm, or more likely that someone used that cucumber melon lotion. You take a big gulp and it's like someone liquefied one cucumber for each sweet dunk you did and put it in some lime Gatorade. That may sound bad in theory, but in practice it's wonderful. It's weird because there is pretty much zero aftertaste with each sip. You crush the whole bottle and go hit the showers. It's a hard life being on top of the food chain.

Steaz Energy Berry
Energy drink with organic ingredients? Check.
Energy drink that doesn't taste like battery acid? Check.
Berry flavor that tastes like a melted freezie pop? Check.
On second thought, it also reminds me a lot of sweet tarts (easily one of my top 10 favorite candies). Steaz did it again and made a great natural energy drink. It doesn't have an acidic or heavy taste like a lot of energy drinks do. Also if you need vitamin B12, this drink has you covered. In one serving, it contains 833% of your daily-recommended amount of B12. Oh, and this can has 1.5 servings so that's 1,249.5% of your daily B12!! Hopefully too much B12 isn't bad for you.

Rip It Energy Fuel A'tomic Pom
The name of this company, Rip It, would be perfect for a professional wrestler to promote it. I can picture Ultimate Warrior or Macho Man Randy Savage (RIP) in the 90's getting pumped about this on a TV commercial between Saturday morning cartoons.
"When I'm in the ring, there's only one drink that gets me going. RIP IT! (They scream as they rip a telephone book in half, then a dictionary, then a picture of their wrestling rival)" It could have been a huge hit.
I don't think I've had a pomegranate flavored energy drink before. It's one of my favorite fruits so I was really excited to find this little can. It has a good pomegranate flavor that is nice and tart. The usual acidic energy drink taste is very minimal, which lets the fruit flavor shine. I'm half way through this little can and already have a jolt of energy. I think that means it's working.

Turkey Hill Lemonade
I have way too many drinks in my cupboard. All three of us do. I could easily drink 2 different things a day for a month and not run out. It's kind of a problem. Luckily my new house has a big cabinet outside of my bedroom that none of my housemates mind if I fill it with drinks.
Where I'm getting with this is that I told myself I wasn't going to buy and new drinks until I put a significant dent in my back-stock. I went to Wegmans with my friend Jess Pizza (yes, her real last name is Pizza) tonight because I was bored and needed to get toilet paper. As we were about to pay for our goods, I saw this bottle of lemonade by the register. My thirst got the better of me and I bought it. In turn, Jess picked up a bottle of Turkey Hill's Orange Tea. I almost changed my mind because I do love their orange tea, but stuck with the lemonade.
Did i make the right choice? Yes and no. This definitely did the job of quenching my thirst. Unfortunately, it tasted a little watered down. It also didn't have much of a sour bite to it. I'd drink it again, but next time I'll be grabbing the bottle of orange tea.

Sipp Sparkling Eco Beverage Ginger Blossom
I am convinced that in a few moments I will wake up and I will be hooked up to all sorts of crazy scientific equipment. There will be EKGs, MRIs and various other three-letter acronyms. This is my thought process because I can not believe that this drink exists. Surely my fellow scientists have me hooked up to machines so that they can peer into my dreams and see the insanity that roams around my cranial cavity.
In essence this is a ginger cream soda. How awesome is that? To sweeten the pot a tad bit of lime was introduced into the mix. It has the flavor of a ginger beverage that would ravage your throat, but one of the other flavors is keeping the burn in check and it goes down as smooth as can be. I have never had a drink with such a pure ginger taste that didn't burn. The vanilla is absolutely prefect. It's not too creamy or overbearing. It blends right in with the ginger. I'm not sure what the lime is doing. It's in there, that is for sure, but it's just a hint and that's all there needs to be. To put a cherry on the proverbial top it is sweetened with agave.
My neuro patterns must be going insane right now. This is hands down one of the best beverages I have ever tasted. Mike if I wake up and you're in a lab coat standing over me with Manny on the table next to you, I will be forced to punch you directly in the throat for bringing this non-existent beverage into my consciousness. If not and this is real, then I need to order this by the case.

Coca-Cola Cherry Zero
Since I normally don't like diet drinks, I bought this along with Cherry Coke to contrast the two. Much like I expected, it tastes the same with the usual fake sugar aftertaste. The cherry flavor masks the gross taste enough that this actually isn't that bad as far as diet drinks go. It's still nothing that I'd want to drink regularly.

Zico Pure Premium Coconut Water Chocolate
Let me tell you right off the bat. Thirsty Dudes, as a whole, are not crazy about coconut water. It's nothing against manufacturers, it's just that we drank a handful of them and we just never had one that we liked. Recently Zico contacted us out of the blue and stepped up to the plate. They said that they had chocolate coconut water that we might be interested in. I took the challenge today. Here's how it went.
I knew that I didn't want to drink it lukewarm so I threw that cat in the fridge for a couple hours. That was problem number one is that warm coconut water is more creamy than refreshing. I had a nice, crisp, fresh bottle and I cracked it open and took a sip. It was great. Finally, an entire new category of drinks has emerged for the taking. The chocolate taste was good. It has a good chocolate smell almost like chocolate ice cream. It tasted like really smooth chocolate milk. Initially, I could not taste the coconut, which is great because I didn't go into this liking coconut water. As the temperature dropped, I could start to taste it, but it was subtle enough for me to get used to it.
Zico, you've done it. You've converted me. Congrats.

Gatorade Perform 02 Orange
I wasn't planning on drinking this yet. I was going to let it chill in the fridge for a while and maybe in a couple of days I would crack it open. As it turns out as I was about to put it into a fridge I dropped it and caused a leak. Call me Mr. Butterfingers. At least it was just a pinhole in a Gatorade can and not blood spurting everywhere due to clumsiness. Forced drinking of beverages here we come!
Derek denies it, but I've always thought that the name Thirsty Dudes came from the Mitch Hedberg joke about this very product. To paraphrase you don't have to be all sweaty from playing basketball to enjoy Gatorade. You can just be a Thirsty Dude. To be honest though I never think of drinking a Gatorade unless I'm playing some sort of sport and even then it's rarely what I reach for.
When I was younger I drank it all the time. Then other companies started popping up doing the same general idea but better. Gatorade always seemed so thick and syrupy to me. I don't know if they just changed branding or if they changed the ingredients, but this isn't as bad as I remember. The flavor is somewhere in the middle between orange juice and orange drink. It's also seems way thinner. It's not something that I think I would ever purchase on my own, but if someone offered it to me I wouldn't deny it.

True Brew Apple Juice
This little guy here has been hiding from me. He got lost in the back of my drink cabinet and I forgot he existed. Now that I'm drinking it I wish that it were way bigger so that A It wouldn't have gotten lost and B That I had more to drink because it's fantastic. It's apple juice how it should be done (when it's from concentrate). It's not overly sweet or sour. It rides a nice line in the middle. If it were the olden times this apple juice would be able to roll that metal circle with a stick in a straight line all day long.

Wegmans Diet Wedge Grapefruit
I didn't mean to buy this. I wanted a grapefruit pop, but I didn't mean to buy the diet version. I didn't notice until after I opened it so I decided to just keep drinking it.
The weird part is I didn't notice it was diet when I tasted it. For a diet pop, this is pretty good. It has a nice tart flavor to it as well. Hopefully next time I'll look as I'm grabbing pop out of the cooler at Wegmans and be able to try the non-diet version.

Crystal Light Mocktails Mojito
Kraft Foods sent us a sample of Crystal Light Mocktails and out of the goodness of my heart I made a pitcher of this and poured a glass for my girlfriend and myself. When I was pouring, she asked, "You have to make that in a pitcher." thinking that I had poured powder into cups and was just going to mix it up. Like I don't know how to read the simplest of directions. I quickly mocked her and brought her a glass with crushed, not cubed, ice. Honestly, when you have the option of having crushed ice, why would you ever go back? Oh, it gets my drink colder, faster? Naw, I'll go with the classic. Please.
So, not drinking, I don't know the pleasure or sorrow of a "real" mojito. I've had mojito drinks; little bit of lime, little bit of mint; but I've never had a pure, authentic one. So here's how my authenticity review process went:
Me: What do you think? Does this taste like a real mojito?
J: No. It tastes really diet.
Me: It's not really a mojito but compared to a real one, what do you think.
J: Well, I guess it tastes a little like it. If you put some rum and mint in this, it would taste pretty good.
Me: Well there is mint in here.
J: Actually it tastes a lot like a mojito.
Me: ...
Straight from someone who has had a mojito, and so that I'm not some poseur, there's your review. Within half a glass, you too can come full circle and feel like you're drinking a real mojito. My review? Sure. It's not bad. It doesn't really taste diet and actually all of the flavors are pretty calm and subdued but if they were any more enhanced, I feel that it would get overwhelming and might not be as quenching. I didn't get a lot of mint flavor, but the lime was there. It wasn't bad and I've got several more packs of the stuff that I won't get upset if I find made in my fridge. One small pack makes two quarts so a little bit goes a long way. This will be great for a party we're having next week for all those women who are watching their figure. Dudes, it's for you, too. It's just a drink. There is nothing fem about drinks.

Bai Antioxidant Infusion Tanzania Strawberry
I have been saving this one for a while. Every time I open up my drink drawer in my fridge it's there staring up at me saying, "This is not the time." Today the voice that is proof that I am completely insane did not whisper in my mind. I knew the day had finally come to drink the last of my Bai.
I was expecting this to be the king of all Bai. Strawberry juice is incredible on it's own, and my history with Bai has been nothing if not stellar. After my first sip I knew that Tanzania Strawberry was the ruler of nothing. It's not bad in any way, but it didn't come anywhere near the idea I had of it in my head. The other flavors have been insanely strong tasting just like the fruit that was in the name. I was expecting this to taste like fresh strawberries with sugar lightly sprinkled on top. What I got was more pomegranate than anything. As it turns out there is more pomegranate juice in this than strawberry juice. The strawberry peaks through more in the aftertaste. If this was labeled as a pomegranate juice it would have gotten higher marks. Seeing at they marketed it as strawberry it only gets three bottles due to disappointment.

Honest Ade Zero Calorie Classic Lemonade
Today is the first day of summer. If nothing else that means that lemonade season is upon us. The days are hot and sticky. Even sitting still sweat pours down your face. Everyone hates and loves it in equal amounts. Water and soda just won't cut it. You need something that gets down to the heart of the matter for pure unadulterated refreshment. You really only have two options a Slurpie from 711 or lemonade. Since Slurpies aren't always available lemonade wins out almost every time.
Honest knows how to quench a thirst. They also know that there are a lot of people watching their weight and sugar intake. Being the smart people they are they also know that artificial sweeteners are beyond gross. They like to keep it natural, so they went with stevia.
I just got home from work. I'm completely drenched with sweat, and I need to get ready so that I can meet up with the other Thirsty Dudes for tacos. I still took the time to sit back relax and enjoy this lemonade. It has a very natural lemon taste, but with the cold bite of stevia. You can't win 100% with diet, but stevia is the sweetener that will get you the highest percentage possible. Sit back enjoy and for goodness sake slather on some sunscreen. We don't want you looking like a lobster.

Calypso Lemonade Southern Peach
I have spent very little time in the south. I've been to New Orleans for a weekend, but was only there for a big music festival and barely saw the city. I also have never had a peach in the south, so I didn't know what to fully expect with this "southern peach" flavor.
I actually never eat peaches, but have consumed a good amount of peach flavored drinks over the years. Come to think of it, I have probably had 10 peach flavor drinks for every 1 whole peach I have consumed. I really don't eat that much fruit except for avocados.
Anyways, this is pretty good peach lemonade. There is no mistaking that this is a peach drink, as it smells and tastes just like a fresh peach. I wish it were a little more tart though. As far as lemonade goes, this is kind of weak in the sour department. Overall though, it's another pretty good drink by Calypso.

Earth Wise Entirely Natural Berry Meadow
Grocery stores are magical places. Whenever I'm out of town I love checking out different stores and when I'm bored I sometimes wander around my local Wegmans. There is something very comforting about it. You're surrounded by food and rad drinks. There are also people everywhere, but they rarely if ever bother you. Whenever I'm there I feel like I'm a part of some sort of enjoyable social experiment.
In all of my times in Wegmans, with all the times that I check the various drink aisles to see if there is anything new, I rarely check the cold juice section. I hardly ever see anything new there, and I really just don't buy larger sized beverages all that often. Recently my lady friend wanted to get some orange juice so we went to said section of the store. Earth Wise instantly caught my eye. In a sea of predominately white packages the green really stood out. I was happily surprised to find that it was a 100% fruit punch of sorts. Juice with no sugar added is a juice that I would like to be friends with. I'm a sucker for blackberries so out of the three flavors they had I chose this one. It's a blend of apple, cranberry and blackberry juice. While it's in your mouth it mainly has an apple taste with a hint of berry. When you swallow the cranberry kicks in and it has the aftertaste of a nice cranapple. The great thing about it is that the cranberry isn't completely overpowering like it tends to be in most juices.
Looks like that juice cooler will be getting more of my attention on future wanderings.

Coca-Cola Cherry Cola
Until today, it had been years since I had Cherry Coke. I had nothing against it. I just never desired to buy one. But yesterday I was craving Pepsi but made myself buy this because we hadn't reviewed it yet. Seriously, if I drank a different drink every time I've had a normal Pepsi in the past year, I'd have a LOT more reviews.
This was better than I expected it to me. Obviously it's not the fanciest cola, but it has a really nice cherry taste. It makes sense that this is a staple in the Coca-Cola line because the cola and cherry flavors go really well together. Here's to another omnipresent soda that I can get behind.

Tradewinds Tropicals Mango Fruit Juice Drink
I wrote a long drawn out review for this, and then I hit the wrong button and lost it all. It was pure, complete annoyance. To be honest I don't even remember what I wrote and I don't want to write it all again. Here's the gist of it:
A) Tallboys are awesome. When you're younger it's rad to get so much beverage for so cheap. When you're older and don't want so much sugar, they are great for sharing.
B) I thought this was an iced tea until I opened it. I was wrong. I didn't even know Tradewinds made juice.
C) I drank this at work today. I work in a tiny room with a conveyor dryer that gets up to 400 degrees. I was dripping sweat and parched. This gave me instant refreshment.
D) Even thought this only has 5% juice in it, it tastes exactly like a blend of mango and apple juices. Normally a higher percentage of juice is what I look for, but it really tasted great, so I didn't mind.
E) You can almost feel the grittiness of the sugar in this. Normally that would be a turn off, but it really worked in this drink.
I hope I don't mess this up again.
