blk. Black Water
Mouth: "Is this supposed to be water?"
Mama Fratelli: "It's wet, ain't it? Drink it!"
These thoughts were the first that came to mind as I saw this bottle in Wegmans today. The bottle of this isn't black, it's clear. The water itself is black. To quote blk.'s website:
"Our proprietary blend of Fulvic Acid (a derivative of plant matter) is mined from an 80 million year old source deep within the earth. Naturally black in color, the formula binds to the molecules of our pure Canadian Spring Water turning it naturally black, with no artificial dyes, coloring, or additives. Fulvic Acid is critical in growth of plant life, helping the transportation and absorption of nutrients. Fulvic Acid's small molecular structure allows for the fast absorption of over 77 different trace minerals and elements, powerful electrolytes, antioxidants, and free radical scavengers."
So yeah, this is black water. Pretty weird huh? I was expecting a sulfur smell upon opening the bottle, but it was just as odorless as normal water. As for taste, I was hoping for a charcoal aftertaste. Was there any? Nope. It sadly tastes just like any other water. It's pretty refreshing, and is good spring water. Unfortunately I don't have the palate to know the difference in different brands of spring water. The one thing that's interesting is that it has 30mg of sodium in the bottle, which I assume is naturally occurring from the minerals in it.
blk.'s tagline is "Enjoy the Dark Side of Water". I can only assume they hope this will be big in the goth community. If this is actually better for you than traditional water like they say it is, I'd drink this over boring clear water everyday.

I bought two bottles of this. I finished three swallows, barely. It looks weird, yes, but it also TASTES BAD, IMHO. Rather than having the refreshing quality of other bottled water, it tastes like it is infused with PVC. Maybe my ferrets will drink the rest of it.

I myself when i tasted it noticed a difference, i just bought mine and i also was expecting a smell and also i didnt smell anything. As for the taste, i did notice a small difference; im not sure how to describe it, but its not bad. I also found out that after you drink two or so bottles you get the after taste of grass or something very earthy. so i just drank another and it was gone.

I bought a bottle, and I drank some of it, expecting a huge difference. I tasted nothing different. I'm not sure it works in terms of being healthier than regular water, but it only has hype because it's black water. C'mon guys. Save your money and just buy regular water. It won't make a difference.
I'm not serious about what brand of water I drink. Water is water.
...But if you're serious about your brands, I wouldn't recommend blk.

What's wrong with just promoting clear Canadian spring water instead. When the two women went to ask the Manzo brothers about promoting their water, I just thought who the hell is going to buy that. It might be OK to drink, and the marketing has all been slick and well done. But why not try just marketing white water or wht?

unlike others on this site, i'm not trying to blast the people that sell the product- that's irrelevant to reviewing the water. i got it at my local health food store and thought it was great. adding extra vital minerals to our diets- what's wrong with that????

The high PH of 9.0 is great for people who's diet doesn't include a lot of fruits and veggies. I actually was reading something about the body's PH a few months back (before I encountered blk water)
so basically all foods except fruit and veggies are really acidic when absorbed by the body. in order for the body to balance itself back to a 7.2-7.4 PH range, it ends up draining iodine and calcium resources from itself as well as other minerals.
the high PH is supposed to supplement the nutrients that people that otherwise have a heavy fried food and meat heavy diet would be eating.
I just bought a bottle today so I'm not sure if it works but it's definitely interesting!

Sprinkler Buff
Wow that is pretty crazy. Black water would make for some killer pranks. I'd feel like a total animal [Urak-hai] drinking that stuff around other people.
