Paldo Aloe Pomegranate
Paldo seems like it should be a dog’s name. I kind of want to name a dog Paldo now. I also want to teach him to go fetch me drinks. Does that fall under the adorable category or the one labeled “get it yourself you lazy slob?” I’m going to go with adorable. I would imagine glass bottles would be hard on the little guy’s teeth. They also might be too smooth for him to be able to get a proper grasp on to carry. Cans would also be a problem because one little tooth pressed just a little too hard and the contents are going to spray everywhere. It looks like I’ll have to train my little bubby Paldo to retrieve me plastic bottles. Hopefully he will be prone to choosing his namesake because they make some great tasting aloe drinks. Sure the chunks in it are a little too tiny for my liking (they resemble pulp more than chunks), but the flavor is always great. This bottle is a great example. Pomegranate is a delicious fruit but a little too much for a lot of people. Paldo (the company not the imaginary dog) added enough sweetener to take away most of the bitterness yet leave the essence of the fruit in tact. It’s a perfect gateway drink to get people into both pomegranate and aloe drinks. If you’re skeptical of either, give this a try. I’ll be out looking for a beagle puppy who is susceptible to drink training.

Paldo Aloe Mango
It's been awhile since I've had an aloe drink. I didn't realize how much I missed them until I started drinking this bottle of Paldo. No matter what flavor they are they all have such a specific underlying flavor. It's almost a white grape flavor, but it's slightly crisper. So this tastes like a crisp white grape and mango hybrid. If it was a juice it would be great on it's own, but when you add the aloe chunks into the mix things get even better. Paldo uses smaller chunks than other companies, but they make up for it in flavor.

Paldo Aloe
I truly am an American. I kept putting off this drink because it was "too small." I didn't think that it would satisfy my thirst. When did I become such a glutton? I think I need to start taking it easy and decrease my portions of beverages as well as food. No one wants to end up a 400lb slob who has bedsores because they can't roll over on their own. All because they liked big portions and had an insatiable appetite. I think that may be a road I could head down and while I have over 200lbs to go, I don't want any part of that. As a result I shall embrace this little guy. He may be small but he packs a punch. He's like the short guys who are so self conscious that all they do is fight people to prove that they are still all man. At 6oz this drink may be short in stature, but it is not short in flavor at all. Like all the best straight aloe flavored drinks, it is reminiscent of a smooth white grape juice. It's actually one of the more natural tasting aloe drinks I've had. Not in the way that it tastes like something that should be kept in a cleaning cubby like the actual plant does, but in a way that it doesn't just taste like sugar. The chunks are a bit on the small size (slightly larger than orange juice pulp) but if they were bigger they would fill up most of this bottle and there would be hardly any liquid in it.

Paldo Blueberry
My boss' dad, Jake, asked me sarcastically if what I was drinking had chunks in it. At the time, I was drinking a tea and it did not. He then sarcastically said that he’d only drink drinks with chunks in it. Challenge accepted. Easy challenge, but accepted nonetheless.
So yesterday, I went through my back stock and found this little guy that Jay and I picked up at an Asian supermarket. "Blueberry Aloe?" I said, "I'll take it." After tasting it, I had to look at the ingredients. It has a really tart flavor to it and the ingredients explained everything. Grape juice. I would not be offended if they re-dubbed this "Blueberry Grape" because that's what this tastes like. It's good. I like it, but if you're going to put so much grape flavor in it, give poor grape some credit.
So I poured Jake some chunky, purple drink, handed it to him and he swirled it around a bit, like a fine glass of wine...with chunks in it, and he drank it. He had a few ounces, defiantly enough to build a valid opinion and his opinion? "I like it." Enough said? The man is an accomplished architect. I think that his opinion might count more than mine.

Paldo Shikhye Rice Punch
I was expecting/hoping this would be really chunky and resemble something like rice pudding in drink form. Sadly, this was not the case. Surprisingly, this drink is clear! It's actually pretty delicious. The rice flavor is sweetened just the right amount. It's really light like rice milk is, but it's slightly refreshing. There's ginger on the ingredient list, but unfortunately it's not noticeable. I may be reflecting on the sweet cinnamon punch drink I had (which is also made by Paldo), but I think there is a slight cinnamon taste in the drink.

Paldo Sweet Cinnamon Punch
Fans of Big Red gum take note: this drink is for you. I was expecting this to taste like a mouth full of cinnamon, or a fireball candy. To my surprise, it tastes like liquid Big Red gum. It has a strong cinnamon smell, but the taste is flavorful and mild. The cinnamon taste is rounded out by dried persimmon. There's also ginger in this, but it's so faint I can't even taste it. I can't say I love this drink, because I don't see myself picking this up again. It tastes really good, but I'm not that crazy about cinnamon. But if you really like cinnamon, definitely try this drink.
