REBBL Super Herb Elixer Reishi Chocolate

REBBL Super Herb Elixer Reishi Chocolate

This is a beverage that I feel would be sold at some ridiculous restaurant in Brooklyn. You know how they have a place that only serves cereal; this would be served at a chocolate milk bar. This would also be a top shelf item at said establishment. The well drinks would be Nestle and Milo and things of that ilk. As you moved up there would be slightly fancier drinks that were make from almond or soy milk. That top shelf though, that is reserved for only the fanciest of chocolate milks, that that is exactly what this is.

I’m glad I didn’t look up what reishi was before I drank this, because “divine” or not, knowing that this was made with mushrooms would have probably tainted my experience. Not knowing I fully enjoyed it though. The base of this is coconut milk and it’s even sweetened with coconut sugar. Luckily it doesn’t taste toasted, and its flavor sits in the background. The chocolate taste is out of control in here. It’s like someone just melted a high grade chocolate bar into the coconut milk. It’s certainly more chocolate that anything else, and I could ask for nothing more. Also, no matter how much I shook this up it still had little clumps of chocolate in it. That would have kind of grossed me out normally, but when I squished them with my tongue I was reminded that this isn’t some garbage chocolate they were using and all was forgiven.

Those reishi mushrooms may be in here to strengthen the immune system, improve mental clarity and relaxation as well as promote healthy liver function, but you would never know by the taste. It’s just one of the best chocolate “milks” that I have ever tasted and all the benefits are just a bonus on top of the flavor.

Now what would the name of this chocolate milk bar be? Well if they were all vegan and wanted to go with a Lemonheads theme they could call it “Udderless.” That seems a bit niche though, even for a chocolate milk bar in Brooklyn. I’m sure I will think of something better before our imaginary grand opening.

REBBL Super Herb Elixer Maca Cold-Brew

REBBL Super Herb Elixer Maca Cold-Brew

Number one. Wow, this is an expensive drink. Jay bought it for me because he is as generous a man as he is a lover. Price tag reads $5.29 and that is a lot of green. How does it taste? Better than you would initially think I bet. It also got me hella jazzed. I drank half of the bottle and now I feel like I need to run or puke. Don't take the "puke" in a bad way. I don't know what to do when I get over caffeinated.

It has a good coffee taste and actually doesn't taste too much like coconut. That's a good thing for me and maybe not a good thing for you, I don't know. It's got some new age ingredients (sunflower lecithin?) but all tree hugging aside, I could have drunk this whole thing if it wasn't for my poor ability to process caffeine.

Now I'm going to drive home jacked up. Maybe that longboard is in the parking lot and I can push some of the energy out. That will be a nice surprise for both my legs and my eyes. The little things.

REBBL Super Herb Elixer Turmeric Golden-Milk

REBBL Super Herb Elixer Turmeric Golden-Milk

I will start by saying; this wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. The turmeric was pulled down by the coconut milk which is the featured player in this act. I actually wish that it was a bit stronger and it's already a pretty bold drink. I think the coconut is too strong and kills some of the spice of the turmeric. There is honey in here somewhere according to the ingredients but you can't taste it. At the end you get the sting of the turmeric but you have to really wait it out while the coconut milk flavor dies out.

I don't know if I would drink it again but this one bottle was good and I'm happy I was "forced" to drink it for the site otherwise I probably wouldn't have tried it.

REBBL Super Herb Elixer Matcha Latte

REBBL Super Herb Elixer Matcha Latte

What is the secret to making a good iced green tea latte? I’ve tried numerous times at home with mediocre success. When I get them in a coffee shop, or buy a higher-end prepackaged one, such as this, I really enjoy them. Maybe I’m just not using a high enough quality green tea. I’m not brewing bottom of the barrel stuff over here, but it’s not super nice either. Oh well, I guess it’s not all that important. It’s not a beverage I often crave, so when I do I have options to purchase it.

Rebbl has put their hat in the ring with this latte that is made with coconut milk. Unlike the Maca Mocha the coconut in here does not taste toasted, and that is an improvement from my perspective. It’s pretty creamy and I almost want to say it is too heavy on the milk, but that green tea flavor still cute through nicely, so I guess I really have no complaints. It’s smooth and it tastes like the quality green tea that I am apparently not using.

In addition to the tea and the milk there is also honey ,vanilla extract, spirulina, quillaja, pink salt and stevia in the mix. First off I would like to note that I can’t taste the stevia at all, so good for them. Other than that you might find yourself asking what need is there to add so many extra ingredients into this recipe. Well normally I would be right there with you, but Rebbl drinks are “Super Herb Elixers,” so they always add extra stuff to give you some health benefits in ways that doesn’t mess with the flavor at all. I’m all for it. None of those ingredients are detrimental to your health at all, so I’ll take the benefits and I’ll drink the latte and I will like it.

REBBL Super Herb Elixer Maca Mocha

REBBL Super Herb Elixer Maca Mocha

If you are like Mike and I, then you probably resemble a child more than an adult and you also probably don’t have a taste for coffee, but you have an affinity for mocha drinks. Just think about how we, and yes I’m including you in this mix up, would love to put that delicious chocolate-ness in a better base. The sky is the limit my friends and that is just what REBBL is reaching for.

For this mocha elixir coffee has been thrown to the curb. In it’s place we have a mixture of coconut milk, chicory root, carob, maca extract, vanilla extract, pink salt, quillaja extract and stevia. I’m not ashamed to admit that I am a big dumb-dumb head and I assumed that maca was the same thing as macha, which it definitely is not. I thought this was going to be a chocolate green tea of sorts, but that it is not. Maca is actually a root vegetable that is known to enhance vitality, stamina and energy. I don’t think that I can even taste the maca, but it’s doing its job. Actually, besides from the ridiculously great chocolate flavor most of what I get is the coconut. It tastes a bit like toasted coconut but it’s not too overpowering, which is great because I can’t stand toasted coconut, and I can still love this beverage. I also get a bit of chicory, which I can only distinguish because I was forced to drink coffee in New Orleans where this root is mixed in with the beans. It, and I’m assuming the maca, give this elixir a nice earthy rooty undertone without distracting from the chocolate. Oh the chocolate, how we love you. How perfect you are.

REBBL Superherb Tonic Ginger Citrus

REBBL Superherb Tonic Ginger Citrus

Have you ever wondered what good health tastes like? Well ponder no more because REBBL has bottled the feeling and taste in this near perfect beverage. I dare anyone to take a sip of this and not feel instantly rejuvenated. Have you had a crappy day and now you just feel completely worn out and like cold diarrhea on a paper plate? Take a drink and welcome yourself back to the functioning world. Who needs cocaine to keep the party going when you have this? Well it might not be a party, but at least you’ll feel great.

It’s actually a rather simple beverage. It’s green tea with a little bit of orange and lemon in the mix. On top of that there is some vanilla, ginseng, ginger, cinnamon, and anise. That’s a whole mess of awesome things mixed together to make something greater than its parts. It’s sweetened with stevia, but the flavor of that is completely lost amongst the other ingredients. I know what you’re asking, “Thirsty Dudes all you seem to care about is ginger; how is it in this magical bottle?” Well I’ll tell you, it’s pretty subtle. It’s there is flavor, but not in burn factor. Normally I would find that disappointing, but in here it would just take away from the rest of the greatness.

In summary this is a nice little citrus green tea with a kick. A kick that will boot you right in the butt and make you feel a little better about being alive.
