Coco Entero Coconut
I know. I am drinking out of a coconut. How can someone brand this as a product to call their own? It's literally a coconut with a drill hole in the top and scoring from what appears to be a band saw or something. There is a cool little tool to open up the top to drink out of that comes with a knife that (might) allow you to cut the coconut open when you're done drinking the water.
This is pure coconut water. Nothing less, nothing more; like the Killwhitneydead record. If you live somewhere that you can't get a coconut, you know, like everywhere except Hawaii, then if you can find this, you can find the warm shores of the ocean right in your mouth without all the hassle of climbing a tree, hatcheting down a coconut, climbing down a tree, cracking the coconut on a rock or something. I'm not a huge fan of coconut water but this is it in it's purest form and I cannot deny it what it is. This is what all coconut water should at least taste like.
I might try to cut this thing open and eat some of the meat inside. You know, for fun. It's called "meat," right? I think it is. Coconut. I would die on an island if this is all I had. I suppose I would just deal with it after a while but I don't know how long I could just drink this. I don't think I would fight an animal for it. Do animals drink coconuts? I think if an animal saw me eating this, I would delightfully hand it over, as I hardly wanted it in the first place.

Alova Sparkling Aloe Drink Naturally Flavored Grapefruit
Alova,
This is so unlike me. I never do things like this, but I feel a grand gesture needs to be made. You see, I love you Alova, and I don’t care who knows it. I am stupid head over heals in love with you and your wonderful drinks. That is why I am going all out and proclaiming you my favorite drink of 2013, even though we are only two months in.
This is my second beverage I have had form you (okay it’s really been a lot more if you count the number of cucumber mint sodas I have imbibed over the past few weeks), and I already know deep down inside that you will have my heart and I will be singing your praises for months to come. It’s rare to find a soda that tastes exactly like the fruit it is representing, but you have grapefruit spot on. The best part is that the aloe juice neutralizes the intensely sourness that it usually entails. It’s the flavor, without the sour. It’s every child’s dream (or maybe three children in the world would really care). The moderate amount of sweetener that you used is really what makes this a perfect beverage.
I’m kind of like smitten,
Jason

Fresca Toronja
Well I just find this amusing. Fresca in the US is a low calorie soda. While there are other flavors the “normal” or original flavor is grapefruit. That’s not funny at all on it’s own. What makes it interesting is that normally pop from Mexico is made with cane sugar, yet for this well known “diet” grapefruit soda they decided to sweeten their version with high fructose corn syrup. Way to take things in t’other direction.
It tastes just like a non-diet American Fresca would. It’s a smooth grapefruit soda. That is slightly blended with orange and lemon. Those other fruits help to minimize the harshness of its contemporaries like Squirt. It’s got a nice flavor and due to them being smart asses and using a different sweetener that isn’t low calories, makes me have a bit of respect for them. That alone makes me give this a slightly higher rating.

O-Key Refrescos (Yellow)
I think I found this soda in a little Mexican mart in Philly. There is no flavor listed on it, nor are their ingredients listed. I always assumed that it was a pineapple soda, and since that is something I love I’ve been saving it for an appropriate time. When I finally drank it last night I felt I had taken a one-way train ride to disappointment city. Where I had expected an uber sweet candied pineapple flavor, all I got was the taste of over sweetened bubbly water, with only the faintest tinge of some sort of citrus. I don’t even know if this was supposed to be pineapple anymore. I only made it a quarter way through the bottle when I decided that drinking this wasn’t worth it.
As a beverage it’s not gross, it’s just there, and not what I look for in a soda at all. This is sub-store brand quality. On the other hand it does have a really cool bottle that I enjoy a great deal. Still, that is not enough to save this soda.

Boing! Mango
Drinks that come in containers not normally associated with their type are always odd to me. This has been in my cupboard for a while and every few weeks I look at it, and it takes me a second to remember that it’s not mango soda. While it may have confused me I appreciate the effort put into this bottle. It’s neat, and I love the embossed “Boing!” on the bottle. The label is pretty great looking as well. Do you want to know something else? The juice inside the bottle isn’t half bad either. It’s more of a nectar than a juice, and that’s how I like my mango beverages. It’s thick and sweet, okay maybe a bit too sweet. I feel like the drink would have fared just fine without the added sugar. Oh well it’s in there, and there’s nothing I can do about that. Looks like I’ll just have to kick back and enjoy it anyways.

Manzanita Sol
I wish I were a preteen in Mexico at a party where this is being served. From the look and taste of this any party at which it is made available has to be pretty incredible. Also, from what I’ve heard birthday parties in Mexico are a big deal. Everyone comes and hangs out and has a good time. Obscene amounts of delicious food are consumed and of course there are piñatas. Who doesn’t love a piñata? I was to be one of those children bashing the hell out of a piñata with a broom stick and then washing down it’s sweet, sweet innards with a bottle of this apple soda.
Unlike a lot of other apple sodas this actually tastes like apples. It has sugar added, so it has a bit of that candy apple taste to it, but it’s not as strong as others I’ve had. It’s shocking that Pepsi-Cola would make such a tasty drink. If ever there was a fun soda this is it. It’s certainly not a drink made to be drunk it a solitary manner. It’s made to be enjoyed at parties, and while I did drink it alone in my print shop, I assure you that my mind was a couple of thousand miles southwest in a quaint little foreign town.

Barrilitos Sabor De Mexico Tangerine
There is something about sodas from Mexico. All of the fruit flavored pop I’ve ever tried from that southern nation all have a similar taste to them. I don’t really know what it is, but it is not present in other fruit flavored pops I’ve had. It’s this certain sweetness that I just can’t put into words. If you’ve tries Barrilitos, Jarritos or Goya you may know what I speak of.
So this has that specific Mexican sweetness, but it also has a fake tangerine flavor. This is to tangerines what Crush is to oranges. They don’t really taste like the fruit, but we like them anyways. If tangerine sodas were in the everyday spectrum of sodas in your grocery store, this wouldn’t stand out at all, but since it’s rare that you get to taste a pop of this flavor I am a fan of it.
I would also like to state that I am proud of myself for not being a glutton. In the past I would have downed this 24oz bottle of soda in 10-15 minutes. It’s now 5 hours later and I still have half a bottle. It’s the little things, you know?

Burn Energy Drink Original
This ship is great but exhausting. All day and everywhere and every minute there is something going on and you feel obligated to go to all of it. I've done karaoke like four times, swam in the pool, eaten tons of fruit, went on a water slide, casinos, cafes, candy shops, banquet halls, and more.
I like the boat, I really do, but I cannot get a good night rest. Every morning I wake up unsatisfyingly tired. The pillows and bed are too soft and my body is used to firm both. I needed a boost so I drank this. I punched me square in the mouth and not in a good way.
I normally like getting decked in the mouth by drinks but this was a sucker punch. It tastes like fruit punch with that "energy drink" taste. It was strong like bull and the first half of the can made me twitch every sip. After that it just tasted overwhelming. It did get me to 1:30 in the morning, though so I might actually give it the credit it deserves there.

Del Valle Antiox Pomegranate
Cozumel, Playa Del Carmen, caves, beaches, and lagoons: That was today. I drove a jeep with a slippery transmission. It also didn't like to restrict reverse when shifting from fifth to sixth. High speed grinding gears: not fantastic.
After about four hours of swimming, brother gets tired. We traveled back to Cozumel to hit the shops but for some reason, it didn't have the same flair as the first time a few months ago. We needed something to drink. We couldn't have drunk everything in all of Mexico so I'll say that the drink supply was massively lacking in Cozumel at that time. I only felt the need to buy two drinks.
This was a good place to start. It was just pomegranate juice. I love pomegranates. Love 'em. This was just juice, so it's hard to review. If you could imagine a pomegranate juice that is not too sweet and tastes like a less bitter pomegranate, you've got it.
Now it's time for dinner, more karaoke with me probably singing Tears For Fears, and probably more Rex.

Boing! Guava
Grit. People nowadays aren't conditioned for any sort of "stuff" in their drink. They should be because "stuff" usually mean better. Try it. I'm serious. Go to the store and buy something that's just gnarly looking. If I can make a recommendation, something along the lines of this drink or any of the many Goya nectar drinks. Drink it. It's good, right? It tastes like fruit. Real fruit. Real, gritty, natural, seed filled fruit. If Mother Nature was an actual person and made a drink, it would have grit in it. You know that's true.
Take thing drink for instance, it is just guava and a little bit of sugar. Alright, alright, there are some other things that probably don't need to be there like sorbitol but the preservatives are probably needed to keep this "100% Natural" drink alive. This is a good drink, though. It tastes like tropical fruit just like it should. It's also served in a cool, skinny, tall bottle that's embossed with the company name and has some awesome artwork that's pretty out of this world.
